She Was the Treasure All Along novel Chapter 336

Giselle overheard the whispers and turned to Loyce with a worried look.

"That's not true, Loyce," she said urgently. "Those are just rumors Cyrilla spreads at school. I've never seen Mr. Shapiro act close to her at all."

Besides, Giselle had seen with her own eyes the incredibly tender way the brilliant man on the rooftop terrace of the Crown Group's sky restaurant had looked at Loyce.

"I don't care about any of that," Loyce said, ruffling Giselle's hair. "What matters is that you did well on your exams. I bought you a gift to celebrate."

Giselle opened the car door and her eyes widened at the sight of shopping bags with designer logos. "These must have been so expensive!"

"They weren't that expensive. I just got you some things that are appropriate for your age," Loyce said truthfully. None of the clothes were from luxury brands; they were from smaller, niche labels popular among young women, with prices ranging from a few hundred to just over a thousand dollars per item.

But to Giselle, they were still incredibly valuable. Her eyes welled up again. "Loyce, you're too good to me. I don't know what I did to deserve this."

With a small smile, Loyce closed the passenger door, got into the car, and drove away from the school.

As they drove, the two of them chatted casually.

"You and your mother are good people," Loyce said. "And your farm was a huge help to me. You're an excellent person, and you deserve to be treated well."

The "Frost Peppermint" was incredibly valuable, and Loyce knew she would need to purchase it in large quantities later. A few gifts today were nothing in comparison.

"I just hope they fit," Loyce added, glancing at the bags Giselle was clutching. "I bought standard sizes. You don't look like you'd have trouble."

"It's fine. If they're too big, I can alter them at home," Giselle said, forcing a smile. "I'll make sure they all fit."

Loyce raised an eyebrow. "You know how to alter clothes?"

Most students at a prestigious school like Metropia were coddled and wouldn't know the first thing about sewing or tailoring.

Giselle's smile faltered as a memory surfaced, and her expression grew somber. "When Cyrilla first transferred to our class, we bonded because we both loved fashion design."

At first, Giselle had no idea that the plainly dressed Cyrilla came from a powerful family like the Shapiros. She had assumed Cyrilla was another simple girl from the countryside, someone whose family wasn't well-off, who had to mend her clothes or even design her own from scratch.
