As she spoke, the associate dragged a critical gaze over Loyce's plain athletic wear and Giselle's clearly altered, uniquely styled clothes. This only cemented her belief that these were just two broke students here to "window shop."
Startled by the sudden scolding, Giselle's small face flushed red with a mix of anger and urgency. "Miss, how can you speak to us like that? What's wrong with looking at the clothes and feeling the fabric? It's a customer's right! Besides, this material isn't that fragile! I've bought things here many times! I even have a membership card with you guys!"
"Membership card? Then this sweater is $300, pure cashmere. Are you buying it?"
"I... I wasn't planning on buying another knit sweater," Giselle said angrily. "It's not that I can't afford it, I was just comparing! How can you be so rude to a member?"
With the massive income brought in by the 'Frost Peppermint' sales, Giselle's family certainly didn't lack money. She could already be considered a wealthy young girl. It was just that despite her newfound wealth, she hadn't chosen to live a luxurious lifestyle. This gave her the confidence to say she could afford it, though unfortunately, this manager didn't buy it for a second.
The woman scoffed and rolled her eyes. "I've never seen you before! Making up lies on the spot! Customer's right? I think you're just here to cause trouble! Hurry up, put the clothes down, and get lost! If you ruin it, you won't be able to pay for it!"
Her voice was sharp and piercing, drawing startled looks from the mother-daughter pair browsing accessories nearby.
Loyce's eyes instantly turned cold. She was starting to understand exactly why 'Bloomberry' was continuously failing. Just who gave a service worker the nerve to be this arrogant?
She placed the knit sweater back on the rack. Her movements were steady, but the aura radiating from her abruptly became oppressive.
She turned around, her gaze landing indifferently on the manager's name tag pinned to the woman's chest.
Lila Seabrook.
Her last name was Seabrook.
