She Was the Treasure All Along novel Chapter 565

Gordon, who knew a bit about the Pierce family, looked confused. "Isn't her grandmother completely paralyzed? Unable to move or speak? How on earth did you communicate with her?"

Loyce walked over and began gently massaging her grandfather's shoulders. "I happen to have read a few books on Morse code as a hobby. She tapped out messages against the sheets using her index finger."

"You actually picked up on that?" Gordon turned to look at her in surprise, then quickly realized it made sense. "Oh, right. I remember hearing she used to be a female fighter pilot. She even flew in the national parade years ago. It makes sense she knows Morse code, but why did she think you'd understand it?"

"She's probably had dozens of doctors look at her over the years, and I was just the first one to catch on," Loyce reasoned. "She didn't ask me to save her; she just fed me those two clues. I only know Stellar Trust as a massive financial fund."

Loyce truly didn't know much about the trust fund world. She managed her own investments quite well and hadn't yet thought about generational wealth preservation.

Morris stood up and walked over, pouring her a glass of juice. "The Stellar Trust Group operates the world's largest trust fund. It's famous for its absolute neutrality and impenetrable security. Countless billionaires park their assets there because Stellar has a unique 'intent confirmation system.' Unless the client personally authorizes a transfer through their highly specific biometric and verbal confirmation protocols, no one can touch a single cent."

Gordon frowned. "So, this Corinne girl's grandmother locked her money up in a trust? Why else would she specifically mention it to you?"

Loyce realized it was highly probable. Combining it with the fact that the old woman was slowly dying from a rare neurotoxin—and Corinne's family clearly knew about it—they were likely keeping her alive solely for the trust fund.

"Morris," Loyce asked, "what happens if the client loses their ability to communicate, like Corinne's grandmother?"

"That's where Stellar Trust is ruthless," Morris explained, taking a seat. "They dispatch a specialized medical evaluation team to regularly check on the client. If the client is temporarily unable to express their intent, the assets enter a strict 'freeze period' until they recover, or..."

"Or what?" Loyce pressed.

"Or until the client passes away," Morris finished softly. "At that point, the assets are distributed exactly according to the original terms of the contract. Until then, there is no bypassing the system. Last year, a Middle Eastern prince tried to bribe a Stellar executive to unfreeze an account. Not only did it fail, but he was permanently blacklisted and lost billions."

Loyce raised an eyebrow. "Then it's highly likely that if Corinne's grandmother dies, the entire Pierce family gets absolutely nothing."
