"Your son stole my boy's toy and pushed him!" the mother shot back, her face flushed with anger.
"It's mine! I traded my tickets for it! He's the thief!" the chubby boy yelled. He subtly nudged his friends, who immediately chimed in to back up his lie.
Desperate, the smaller boy yelled, "I didn't! I spun the mega-wheel and won the grand prize! He snatched it from me!"
The mother gripped her son's shoulders protectively. "I want your son to apologize right now!"
"Apologize? That's hilarious," the rich woman scoffed, eyeing the mother's cheap clothes with absolute disgust. "My son has everything he could ever want; why would he steal a piece of plastic? You're just trying to extort us."
She unclasped her designer handbag, pulled out a thick stack of cash, and threw it aggressively at the woman's face.
"Take it and get out of my sight. But first, you're going to apologize to my son. If you don't, I'll make sure you can't survive in Metropia!"
The bills fluttered to the ground, drawing shocked murmurs from the growing crowd. The mother's face drained of color. Trembling with humiliation and rage, she kept her arm firmly around her son and refused to bend.
Watching from a few feet away, Forrest's brow furrowed in disgust. He was accustomed to the ruthless nature of corporate warfare, but this blatant, cruel bullying turned his stomach.
He stepped forward, his voice a low, commanding rumble that cut through the noise. "Ma'am, I suggest you lower your voice. Your son is the one in the wrong. He stole the toy and got physical. He is the one who owes an apology."
The woman looked Forrest up and down. Noting his expensive suit and imposing presence, she dialed back her screeching slightly, though her arrogance remained intact.
"And who are you? Mind your own business. Do you have any idea who my husband is? He's a senior executive at the Lonsdale Group! If you know what's good for you, you'll walk away."
"The Lonsdale Group?" Forrest repeated, his eyes turning glacial.
