She Was the Treasure All Along novel Chapter 607

Forrest pulled out his phone, holding the woman's arrogant gaze as he dialed Eric's number.

"Eric," Forrest said flatly. "Replace the HR Director for the Metropia branch immediately."

"Understood," Eric replied. "May I ask the reason?"

"Tell him to ask his wife," Forrest said, hanging up.

Leticia blinked, entirely unconvinced. The man's tone had been authoritative, but the idea of her husband being fired over a phone call was laughable.

She let out a harsh bark of laughter. "Trying to bluff me? Who do you think you are, putting on this little show? My husband has been with the Lonsdale Group for over a decade. You think you can fire him with one fake phone call?"

The crowd murmured. Some thought Forrest was just posturing, but a few onlookers had already pulled up financial news on their phones, their eyes widening in shock as they recognized the billionaire standing before them.

The atmosphere shifted from tense to highly anticipated.

Barely two minutes later, Leticia's phone rang sharply. Annoyed, she pulled it out, freezing when she saw her husband's name on the screen. She glanced up at Loyce, whose smile hadn't reached her eyes, and a sudden knot of dread formed in her stomach.

She answered the call. Before she could even say hello, Gideon's frantic, hysterical screaming blasted through the speaker, loud enough for the nearest bystanders to hear.

"Leticia, you stupid bitch! You're at the mall, right?! What the hell did you do?! Who did you piss off?! I just got a call from Mr. Lonsdale's assistant! I've been fired! Terminated on the spot because of you! Ten years, Leticia! Ten years of my life, ruined!"
