She Was the Treasure All Along novel Chapter 637

"No! The fence runs on an independent grid. It's just the house. I'll go start the backup generator."

In the pitch black, Corinne barked, "Don't panic! We have candles. Light them!"

A few warm flickers of candlelight soon illuminated the living room. Suddenly, Dorian screamed, "Where is the girl?!"

Everyone snapped their heads toward the spot where they had placed Ayla.

The gray tiles were empty, save for a dark puddle of blood. The dying little girl had completely vanished right under their noses.

A collective chill ran down their spines.

"Who took her?!"

"Which one of you is playing a sick joke?!"

Paranoia erupted. Dorian was the most terrified—he was the one who pulled the trigger. In his home country, murdering a child meant the death penalty!

Looking like a cornered rat, Dorian grabbed a man by the collar. "Was it you, Sandro?! We're competing for the same railway contract! You just want me out of the picture, don't you?!"

Sandro shoved him off. "Are you insane?! Why would I do that? I'm standing right here! Do you think if this gets out, I'm safe? I'm a goddamn accomplice now!"

Jennifer, who had been eerily quiet, suddenly pointed into the dark. "The medical kit is gone too."

She looked at Corinne. "It was sitting right by my feet. It's vanished."

Corinne's voice dropped to a dangerous whisper. "Someone snuck in when the lights went out. Check the security cameras! The reserve has full coverage. Dorian, you're the tech guy. Find the footage!"

Dorian slowly came back to his senses, releasing Sandro's collar, and grabbed his laptop.

The staff were immediately ordered to sweep the house and radio for backup.
