She Was the Treasure All Along novel Chapter 808

A torrential storm of shock and fury instantly erupted in his deep eyes.

The air pressure in the cavern seemed to plummet.

"Loyce!" Lucian quickened his pace, crossing the distance in the blink of an eye.

Ignoring the two people practically wetting themselves in terror, he swiftly undid the ropes around Loyce's wrists, pulled a handkerchief from his pocket, and gently dabbed at the cut on her neck.

"We were a second too slow. I let you get hurt."

Loyce met his gaze and shook her head slightly, offering a reassuring look.

"It's just a scratch. I accounted for it. I'm fine," she said casually. "We can proceed to the next phase."

Lucian’s brow remained tightly furrowed, the violent storm in his eyes still raging.

He turned to an operative standing nearby, clearly dressed as a field medic, and barked, "Treat this immediately."

The medic rushed forward, swiftly and gently cleaning and bandaging the wound.

Throughout the entire process, Loyce's expression didn't change in the slightest. Meanwhile, Luna and Channing were completely paralyzed by shock.

The masks had fully come off, exposing the terrifying truth of the situation.

The spiked club slipped from Luna's grip, hitting the floor with a loud clang. She stared blankly at Lucian, then at the men in black who had so effortlessly dispatched Gyrfalcon's elite squad, before her eyes finally settled back on Loyce.

"You... you really are..." Channing’s voice was as raspy as sandpaper. "X? The arms dealer X? Weren't you SaintHealer? How can you be X as well?"

He couldn't wrap his mind around it. No rational person would ever suspect that two of the most legendary, feared figures in both the underworld and high society were the exact same person. And a young woman, at that!

It was precisely because people considered it impossible that Loyce had managed to execute so many of her grand designs flawlessly.

She rubbed her freed wrists and spoke coolly. "You work for Ares Global; you should know this better than anyone. Nobody impersonates X. Whoever tries, dies."

Luna’s breathing turned ragged, her chest heaving violently. The intoxicating high of holding the power of life and death was utterly pulverized, replaced by an extreme, maddening cocktail of humiliation and terror.

The clash of these two extreme emotions violently distorted her previously beautiful face, making her look monstrous.

"You're X... you're really X..." she muttered hoarsely. Suddenly, she jerked her head up, a final, desperate burst of arrogant bravado igniting in her eyes. "So what?! You think just because you're X, you can touch me?! My father is Tanur Ares! If you harm a single hair on my head, he will pay any price to make you suffer a thousand times worse! He will tear you up by the roots! You'll all end up dead!"
