Chapter 344 A Domestic Morning
She must have been quietly upset on the stairs earlier because of this.
He couldn’t help but smile, holding her a little closer.
Isabelle paused. It seemed she had slept too deeply to notice him returning or getting up.
She had been sleeping more heavily lately.
“Don’t worry. As long as you don’t send me away, I’ll be here for you both every day from now on.”
“I won’t send you away again.”
She nuzzled into his arms and pressed a soft kiss against his broad chest.
Damian’s throat moved slightly, and his breathing deepened.
That tender kiss carried a hint of warmth, sending quiet ripples through him.
“Go back to sleep. It’s still early…” His voice was husky.
Isabelle felt his reaction. She tilted her head up slightly and met his darkened eyes.
“I can help,” she offered.
Damian didn’t want to tire her. “Not necessary. It’ll pass. Just don’t tease.”
Isabelle didn’t seem inclined to obey. She lifted her head again and kissed the base of his throat.
Damian swallowed hard.
Isabelle showed no sign of stopping, letting her hand drift lower.
Damian slowly returned her kiss. It began gently, then grew deeper, their lips lingering together.

When Isabelle came out of the bathroom after washing her hands, Damian was lying in bed watching her with a satisfied softness in his expression.
His lounge set was disheveled, partly open.
He reached out a hand, motioning her over.
Isabelle walked toward him and was drawn into his arms.
“Be good next time. Are you tired, hm?” Damian ran his fingertips lightly over her flushed lips.
She stayed quiet.
“Hungry?” His voice was still low and resonant–the kind of tone Isabelle loved.
“Yes,” she said.

Chapter 344 A Domestic Morning
She wasn’t being coy. She was fully awake now, and she had a meeting with Beatrice later.

Regina had secured an opportunity for her with Beatrice at yesterday’s gathering. But she’d heard there was competition. Of the two private design studios on the list, one was familiar–Ashley’s studio.
After what happened last night, she wasn’t sure if Ashley would show up today.
Isabelle had no intention of letting this chance slip by.
If the newly prominent Beatrice wore a dress she designed, there would be no shortage of opportunities in this circle going forward.
The other private studio was run by a designer within the social circuit herself. It wasn’t particularly well–known–perhaps she was just being given a chance.
This wasn’t much of a challenge for Isabelle. She was only concerned about potential underhanded tactics.
“How is it this time?” Damian watched her enjoying the shrimp ravioli in cream sauce.
“Not bad.”
He frowned. “Just ‘not bad‘?”
Isabelle looked down at the bowl. It looked good. Could he have made it? His skills with pasta hadn’t seemed this refined before.
“You think Susie made this?”
“Didn’t she?” she asked softly.
“No. Your husband made it himself,” Damian said, giving her forehead a light tap.
Husband…
The word felt both familiar and a little novel on his lips.
She realized she hardly ever called him that.
Isabelle looked at him in mild disbelief. “You made this?”
“Yes, I did.” He tapped her forehead again playfully.

Susie stood not far away, watching the affectionate couple. She thought perhaps it was time for her to move back to her own place.
“You really shouldn’t cook until you’re fully healed,” Isabelle murmured.
“Don’t you like it?”
“It’s not that I don’t like it.” She pressed her lips together, then added, “Your wounds aren’t healed. Besides, if you do everything, what will Susie do?”
Damian grinned and ruffled her hair.
“Meeting Beatrice today? I’ll drive you later.”
