Chapter 350 Sweet Recollections
Chapter 350 Sweet Recollections
The photo had been taken by a passing professional photographer who often worked the slopes.
Isabelle never imagined that the man in the picture was actually Damian.
So they had met long before.

Although Regina and Caroline were close friends, Damian had never attended any of the ladies‘ gatherings or social events his mother hosted, which was why their paths had rarely, if ever, crossed.
After Damian carried her to the first–aid station, he had been called away for an urgent business matter.
Later, Isabelle tried to look for him but couldn’t find him. A staff member mentioned he had already left the resort.
So she didn’t search any further.
Diana’s words at the time turned out to be prophetic. She had teased, “You literally crashed into your soulmate.”
Because of that, her friends had playfully razzed her about it the entire winter.
Every time she remembered that man, her whole body would grow warm, almost as if they were secretly in a long–distance romance. Just thinking about him made her cheeks flush.
Today, she had finally found him. The man she had literally collided with.
“You found it,” Damian said, leaning against the doorframe and looking at the photo in her hand. “I meant to put it away properly, but you beat me to it!”
“Did you know it was me back then?” Isabelle asked curiously.
“No,” Damian admitted, walking over and sitting beside her. He picked up the photo. “My mother recognized you later. She said it was definitely you. I had to leave in a hurry that day–something urgent came up.”
“Then why did you write ‘sweetheart‘ here?” Isabelle pointed to the handwriting on the back of the frame.
“Mom always spoke so fondly of you, always called you her ‘sweetheart,” he said with a soft smile.
Isabelle pressed her lips together, then asked, “Did you… like me even then?”
“No. I was still with someone else at the time…” He seemed to brush against a subject he hadn’t meant to bring up. His expression shifted slightly. “Back then, I just thought you were a sweet kid. I didn’t have any… inappropriate thoughts about you.”
Isabelle wasn’t particularly surprised by the person Damian mentioned. She knew about his history with Ashley.
“No inappropriate thoughts? Then what does that make you now? The age gap was the same back then–you called me a kid then and it’s the same gap now. Talk about ‘robbing the cradle!”
“Already robbed. What can we do…” He set the frame aside, leaned in, and gently pressed her back against the sofa cushions.
“Damian…”
“I need kisses…” His voice came out ragged and low.

His kiss was tender–warm, lingering, and deep.
It carried all the longing from their time apart, every bit of unspoken want hidden within that touch.
He took his time, savoring the familiar scent that was wholly hers.
“Buzz-”
A series of incoming text notifications tugged their awareness back to the present.

Isabelle was thoroughly tousled by him. One strap of her dress had slipped down to her arm, and she feared the delicate fabric might tear if he tugged any further.
Her skirt had ridden up to her waist, his large hand still resting possessively on her thigh–the one marked with the delicate floral tattoo. His face was buried in the curve of her neck, his breathing heavy and uneven.
Slowly, he steadied his breaths, hooked the strap back up, and settled it properly on her shoulder.
He smoothed her skirt back down with careful hands.
Isabelle swallowed, her throat dry. She looked thoroughly rumpled. In contrast, the man before her appeared perfectly composed -his suit still crisp, his tie neatly knotted, as if entirely unruffled.
Isabelle marveled, not for the first time, at his self–control.
Even his dress shirt remained neatly tucked and undisturbed.
She lay boneless against the sofa, breathing softly. It was Damian who finally lifted her up.
She settled sideways in his lap, leaning into his shoulder, and finally reached for her phone to check the messages.
They were from Diana.
“Girl, whose best friend are you anyway? Not sure if you and him are the soulmates or you and me. You totally sold me out.”
“Look at you, all grown up and scheming. I bring you intel from across the globe, and you team up with Brian to ambush me.”
It was a whole thread of playful complaints.

Though they sounded like gripes, Isabelle knew Diana wasn’t truly upset. Among the unread messages was also a thank–you from Brian, attached with a photo of a table spread with Diana’s favorite dishes. Diana was in the shot, mid–laugh while holding her phone, presumably in the middle of typing out another teasing text to Isabelle.
Isabelle smiled and typed back. “That mouth of yours must have been marinating in sass for decades. So much flavor.”
Damian glanced at their exchange and smiled faintly.
How fortunate she was to have friends like these.
“I’m hungry,” Isabelle said, her gaze shifting to Damian after seeing the spread Brian had prepared.
