Sweet Flash Marriage with the Restrained Tycoon (Isabelle and Damien) novel Chapter 381

Chapter 381 An Unexpected Coexistence

“Something’s off. You’re breaking my heart here. Please, no more stabbing,” Lucas said, his tone half–serious, half–teasing.

“I didn’t even…” she mumbled, feeling genuinely wronged,

What had just happened had really shaken her, and now being scolded by him only made her feel worse.

“Lynn, can’t you tell I’m trying to chase after you? Don’t pick fights over nothing,” Lucas said, his words landing somewhere between a confession and a warning.

Lynn’s face flushed, then went pale.

Who even says things that directly? Doesn’t he have any shame?

The elevator doors slid open, and Lynn let him lead her out by the hand.

“You… should probably head back now…” Lynn stood in front of her apartment door, hesitant to unlock it.

“Not happening,” Lucas replied flatly.

“I’m used to living by myself.”

“How am I supposed to win you over if I don’t even live with you?” It was a statement, not a question.

Lynn swallowed nervously and tried to subtly pull her hand back.

Lucas didn’t give her the chance–he didn’t leave any room for struggle at all.

Lynn glanced down at her firmly held hand, and the awkwardness on her face didn’t escape him.

“Open the door,” Lucas said, leaving no room for argument.

Lynn pressed her lips together, still unwilling to turn the key.

What scared her more than the man in front of her was the disaster zone inside.

She loved snacks, so there were probably crumbs scattered on the couch. The kitchen sink still had a pile dishes–she hadn’t even bothered loading the dishwasher.

On her bed lay a heap of tried–on and discarded clothes, still unfolded.

If Lucas walked in now, he’d probably run for the hills.

Him leaving wouldn’t be the end of the world, but she was afraid he’d go around wrecking her reputation.

“Anything else, just please don’t come in…”

“Remember those two drunk guys from earlier? They memorized your floor. This is a one–unit–per–floor layout, you know. Lucas said with a faint smirk.

“Fine.” Lynn was completely at his mercy.

The door unlocked.

Lynn stepped in first, pulled a pair of men’s slippers from the entryway closet for hire, then swapped into her own.

“Good security awareness,” Lucas remarked, eyeing the slightly dusty but clearly brand–new teen’s slippers.

It’s exactly to keep out presumptuous guys like you.

Lynn pursed her lips, not daring to say it out loud.
