Sweet Flash Marriage with the Restrained Tycoon (Isabelle and Damien) novel Chapter 86

"Is this your assistant?"

She lowered her sunglasses slightly, peering over the rim at Brian.

Brian felt a strange chill run down his spine.

"He is."

"Mind if I borrow him for a couple of days?"

"Not at all." Damian didn't hesitate.

"Let's go, Brian."

Diana swung her long legs forward and walked out of the building.

Brian shot a desperate, wordless look toward Damian.

His expression seemed to say, "If you're going to trade me like livestock, at least negotiate a price!"

But Damian was already absorbed in the documents, ignoring him completely.

After dropping Diana's luggage at her hotel, Brian drove her to Isabelle's place.

"He's so selfish—such a huge penthouse and only one bedroom. Clearly doesn't want anyone disturbing your private time."

Diana and Isabelle were lounging on the living room sofa, snacking on chips.

Brian was in the kitchen, attempting to prepare lunch.

"It's not that. I heard he had some leg trouble a few years back. Didn't want to be bothered with guests, so he only kept one proper bedroom."

Isabelle had quietly learned about Damian's past from Regina.

There was a reason he wore almost exclusively black, too.

The year of the incident, he'd been in civilian clothes on a mission—white ones, as it happened.

Afterward, the bloodstains... and he'd worn only black ever since.

Before she knew the story, making him that first white shirt had been partly a test—to see if he would actually wear it.

Surprisingly, he did.

After learning the truth, she kept making white shirts for him, hoping he could move past the shadows.

He didn't seem to mind, though.

"Leg trouble, huh? So... is he, you know, fully functional?"

Isabelle's face flushed instantly, remembering the intense moment in the study. He seemed perfectly fine...

Probably not dysfunctional...

Diana looked intrigued, curious how two people who seemed so reserved actually interacted.

"We haven't gone that far yet..." Isabelle admitted.

"Still just a friends-with-benefits situation?" Diana asked, feigning shock.

"Heh."

Diana couldn't figure it out—the man clearly had a strong physical presence, and he didn't seem the type to hold back.

Plus, with someone like Isabelle around, how was he restraining himself?

"He's staying here tonight."

"Finally coming home? What changed his mind?"

Isabelle filled her in on the events of the past few days.

Diana's jaw practically dropped.

"What do I do? I'm so nervous."

"Why be nervous? It's not like it's your first time."

"Ladies, lunch is ready." Brian brought the dishes out from the kitchen.

The two put down their snacks and moved to the dining table.
