Chapter 458
3rd Person’s POV
“Don’t worry, Luna. I’ll deliver it to him myself. You should stay here and rest.” Meredith offered her a gentle smile, maternal sympathy softening her features.
Ever since arriving at the apartment, she had pitied Cora deeply. The rumors spreading throughout Lunaris had already reached every corner of the city-whispers of how Alpha Rowan Blackfang had publicly struck his Luna barely a day after their mating ceremony.
No matter how people tried to suppress it, the scandal refused to die.
“Thank you, Meredith,” Cora replied softly.
Her voice remained fragile, carefully weakened, as though exhaustion weighed on every breath.
Meredith’s heart ached even more at the sight.
Carefully carrying the thermal container, the Omega left the apartment and headed toward Rowan’s office
tower.
By the time she arrived, the entire corporate floor had already fallen silent for the night.
Inside his office, Rowan stood near the massive windows overlooking Lunaris.
He had returned not long ago from the forest after letting his wolf run beneath the moonlit pines for hours. The scent of damp earth, cedar, and cold night air still clung heavily to him, wild and untamed beneath the expensive black shirt stretched across his broad frame.
Even after the run, the beast beneath his skin remained restless.
The ghosts of the past few days continued to worry at his instincts like hungry teeth.
“Alpha.”
Azrel stepped into the office carefully.
“Meredith, the Omega from your residence, is here. She brought dinner from Luna Cora.”
Rowan’s expression hardened instantly. “I’m not hungry.”
His tone came out flat and cold.
But Azrel remained standing there instead of leaving.
The silence stretched.
Rowan exhaled sharply through his nose, irritation flashing through his tired eyes.
His wolf hated this entire situation.
Yet logic overpowered instinct.

Chapter 458
If the maid returned upset and spread word that he rejected Cora’s effort entirely, the scandal surrounding him would only worsen. His reputation had already taken enough damage after the footage leaked across Lunaris. He could not afford another spark feeding the fire.
“Fine,” Rowan muttered at last. “Send her in.”
Relief flickered briefly across Azrel’s face before he quickly stepped out.
Moments later, Meredith entered the office carrying the insulated container carefully in both hands.
“Alpha,” she greeted respectfully before approaching his desk. “Luna Cora prepared this herself for your
Her smile softened.
“She was weak all day and barely left her room. But this evening, she suddenly insisted on getting up to cook for you personally.” Meredith’s eyes warmed with sincerity. “If that isn’t genuine concern for your well- being, then I don’t know what is.”
Rowan said nothing.
His silence encouraged her to continue.
“Please at least take a few spoonfuls,” Meredith urged gently. “So I can honestly tell her you ate it.”
She opened the container for him.
Warm steam rose immediately into the room, carrying the rich scent of herbs and slow-cooked broth.
Rowan’s jaw tightened faintly.
For a brief second, something uncomfortable twisted beneath his ribs.
Guilt.
His wolf shifted uneasily beneath his skin.
Without another word, he took the spoon from Meredith’s hands and swallowed a mouthful simply to end the conversation faster.
The flavor was rich,
But something strange lingered beneath it.
A faint bitterness curled across his tongue before vanishing almost instantly.
His brows furrowed slightly.
