Chapter 455
3rd Person’s POV
“He’s there?” Ezra’s voice came low through the phone.
Too low.
The kind of quiet that carried teeth beneath it.
“Yes,” Lylah answered honestly. “Jude is here for a separate outreach project, but he also offered assistance for the villagers. Lunar Grace agreed to cooperate with some of his plans.”
Silence followed again.
The suffocating kind that made instincts stir uneasily beneath the skin.
Then, slowly,
“How could he be there with you…” Ezra murmured. A faint growl threaded beneath the words. “…and I’m not?”
Lylah blinked, pulling the phone slightly from her ear. “Ezra? Did you say something?”
At that exact moment, the cabin door creaked open.
Jude stepped outside, clearly startled to find her standing there. His eyes widened almost immediately,. disbelief flashing openly across his face.
“You actually came.”
The excitement in his scent rose so quickly that even the cold mountain wind failed to hide it.
Lylah glanced back toward him before returning her attention to the call. “If not, I’ll contact you again later after I return to the hut. Good night, Ezra.”
The faster she handled this matter, the sooner she could speak with Ezra properly.
That would be better.
But in Lunaris,
Something dark unfurled inside the Alpha of Moonclaw.
The atmosphere within Ezra’s penthouse had turned deathly still. Shadows stretched across the marble floors while the city lights beyond the towering windows flickered beneath the pressure leaking unconsciously from his wolf.
Possessiveness. Primal. Territorial. Violent.
His beast paced restlessly beneath his skin the moment another male’s name lingered too long beside his
mate’s.

Meanwhile, outside the cabin in Lunera, Jude rubbed the back of his neck uncasily.
You told Alpha Ezra I was here?”
Lylah looked at him calmly. “Was your visit supposed to be a secret?”
it.”
“No, it’s not that.” Jude exhaled. “I just…” His expression tightened faintly. “I have a feeling he won’t like it.”
An Alpha would never welcome another unimated male hovering near his Luna-especially one carrying guilt, admiration, and emotions far too dangerous to ignore altogether.
Jude might not intend disrespect.
But instincts did not care about intentions.
Lylah, however, remained entirely composed.
“Don’t worry, Ezra won’t misunderstand. I already explained that you came here for your own project.”
The tension in Jude’s shoulders eased slightly “Alright.”
Then, after a pause, his eyes softened almost boyishly.
“But… you really came here for me?”
Disbelief flickered openly across his face, as though he still couldn’t quite accept that Lylah would willingly come outside his door.
Meanwhile in Lunaris, Zyrelle arrived at Ezra’s penthouse not long after receiving his summons.
The hour was late enough that the city below had already drowned itself in darkness.
Which meant one thing.
Whatever had forced the Alpha to call for her at this time was not minor.
The moment she entered the room, she felt it.
The oppressive pressure saturates the air.
Ezra stood near the towering glass windows overlooking Lunaris, one hand resting against the arm of his chair while shadows gathered around him like kneeling beasts.
His wolf was close.
Far too close to the surface.
“Jude Knight,” Ezra said at last, his voice dangerously calm, “is currently in Lunera Valley.”
Zyrelle blinked once.
“He’s one of the wolves whose life Lylah’s biological father saved years ago,” Ezra continued. “And now he suddenly finds his way near my Luna.”

A chill crept down Zyrelle’s spine.
“Get rid of him.”
For several seconds, she simply stared.
Then, carefully, Zyrelle said, “Lylah already explained the situation to you, didn’t she? Jude Knight is only there because of his own project.”
