The Billionaire's True Heiress: From Fake Jewel to Real Crown novel Chapter 66

“It doesn’t matter who Claire is now. At school, she’s just your classmate, like everyone else.”

The teacher actually liked Claire. After all, she was an outstanding student. So what if she wasn’t the heiress of the James family? With her grades, she could easily compete for top honors. Her future looked so bright.

“Tch.”

No one dared to make a scene in front of the teacher, but a few students still shot her looks of pure disdain.

Without the James family name, Claire never would have set foot in Silverpeak International College. She wouldn’t even be qualified to sit in the same classroom as them. Why should anyone show her respect now?

Claire glanced over at the girl who’d just scoffed. She was someone who used to flatter Claire all the time, though she’d gossiped behind her back too.

Claire didn’t bother with people like that. Still, her icy glare made the girl shrink back in her seat.

The girl immediately felt embarrassed about flinching. Claire wasn’t the heiress anymore, so what was there to be scared of? Gathering her courage, she glared back, but Claire was already looking away.

All eyes turned to the classroom door, where two new faces appeared.

Lance and Cindy.

“Hello, teacher. I’ve completed my sister’s transfer paperwork. From now on, she’ll be in your class.”

Bringing Cindy to Silverpeak was a family decision. Latham had wanted to wait until the DNA results came in, but Octavia and Lance couldn’t wait any longer.

To Octavia, every day that Claire spent in Cindy’s place was another day stolen. Cindy was the real princess, the one everyone should envy, and she deserved to attend the best high school in Apex City.

“What, just because I’m a girl you think I need special treatment?” Molly shot back, hands on her hips.

The boy, Garry, was a bit chubby and always looked like he was about to crack a joke.

Molly was fuming. “I’m not asking for special treatment. I just think you guys are so shallow. All you care about is a pretty face.”

“No wonder you’re always stuck being someone’s lapdog,” she added, her words sharp as ever.

Garry’s face turned green. It wasn’t even Claire he liked. His crush was actually a girl from a different class, the one who looked like a real-life Barbie doll. Too bad she had zero interest in him. He was always bringing her snacks and drinks, but she never gave him any attention.

“Molly, you’re one to talk. Aren’t you just jealous that Claire’s prettier, smarter, and used to have a better family than you?”
