The Billionaire's True Heiress: From Fake Jewel to Real Crown novel Chapter 91

Bonnie, terrified that Edison would make her write a three-thousand-word apology too, reached out and smacked her son. “What nonsense are you spouting?”

“If you can’t even write three thousand words, then don’t bother coming to school. Just drop out.”

Jasper stared at her, completely innocent and a little wounded.

Was this really his own mother?

“I really...”

Before Jasper could finish, his mom cut him off. “You can finish it. You have to finish it.”

Jasper just gave up. Whatever.

Edison finally looked satisfied.

“So, Dean, I guess we’ll be heading out now?” Edison asked, making a show of seeking the dean’s approval.

The dean was too tired to even argue. He just waved them away. “Go.”

Please, just don’t come back. He was too old for this chaos.

Outside the office, Edison’s entire vibe changed when he turned to Claire.

“Claire, here’s your backpack. Double-check if you left anything behind.”

He handed over the bag Claire had forgotten in the countryside.

Claire didn’t even need to look. She already knew everything would still be there, untouched.

“Thanks, Edison.” Claire slipped the backpack over one shoulder.

Edison took it right back. “Let me carry it. This thing’s heavy.”

Claire didn’t protest. Honestly, it was kind of funny seeing someone as tall as Edison carrying a little pink backpack made for a teenage girl.

Octavia had picked it out for her. It matched her style perfectly, all blush pink and cute straps.

Sophia came rushing after them, her energy impossible to ignore. “Edison, that move you used on Jasper was epic!”

“Too bad you didn’t actually land it!”

“And hey, is it really true people can castrate a pig in like, ten seconds where you’re from?”

She was clearly worried Sophia would start up with more wild questions.

Sophia sighed and followed along, but just before stepping into the classroom, she turned back to Edison. “Edison, you were awesome in the dean’s office!”

Edison grinned. “Really? I was worried I embarrassed Claire.”

Claire looked at him too. “No way. You were amazing.”

Hearing that, Edison’s mood finally lifted. “So, next time you run into trouble, you know who to call, right?”

Claire nodded, completely serious. “Got it.”

She secretly hoped the dean wouldn’t put up a sign at the gate next time that said, “No Edisons or dogs allowed.”

The poor man had been totally overwhelmed today.

And Sophia’s mom—she wasn’t a pushover either. She’d jumped right in the moment things got heated.

“Alright, get to class,” Edison told them. “Work hard and try to get along with your classmates. But if you really can’t, then don’t force it.”
