The Genius Ex-Wife’s Revenge Portfolio novel Chapter 819

Lucas’s head jerked to the side from the force of the slap.

Lilly balled her fists, her voice trembling with anger. “Lucas, I used to think you were just shallow and a player. But this? This shows me who you really are. You’ll do anything to get your way. You’re disgusting, completely shameless, and you have zero principles. You actually think I’d marry you?”

Lucas slowly turned his face back, a faint smile on his lips even though her slap had left a red mark. “Lilly, it’s not up to you anymore. Whether you marry me or not, that’s my call now.”

Lilly glared at him. “What do you want, Lucas?”

“William from that multinational is already here in the city. He’s my friend. If you refuse to marry me, I’ll go straight to him and make sure he pulls out of the deal with your family’s company. The moment that happens, the Lynch Group’s finances will collapse. Your family’s legacy, everything they built over a hundred years, all ruined. And it’ll all be because of you.”

Lilly shook with anger. She couldn’t believe Lucas had it all planned out, even down to being friends with William.

“Lucas, we can’t afford to lose this partnership. Do you really have to go this far?”

Lucas reached out and gently held her face, his hands warm against her skin. “Lilly, whether things get ugly or not depends on you. It might look like I’m in control, but actually, the decision has always been in your hands.”

He let his thumb brush across her lips, lingering there. “Lilly, you have no idea how much I want you. I’ve thought about you for three years. I used to be lost in Sarah, but I’ve changed. Please, just give me a chance. Marry me.”

Lilly’s voice was cool. “And if I say no?”

“Lilly, you don’t get to say no.”

He started off stroking her lips softly. They were warm and sweet, and the touch made his breath quicken. He couldn’t hold back anymore. The pressure of his thumb grew more intense, his eyes dark and hungry. He pushed her backwards until she fell onto the bed.

That set something off in Lucas. His eyes darkened, his jaw clenched. “Is he? We could always find out in bed.”

He pressed his mouth against her neck, desperate for her touch.

Lilly shoved him away, her voice sharp. “There’s nothing to test. Jace is better than you, hands down.”

Lucas pulled at his shirt collar, trying to keep his cool but failing, frustration all over his face. “You’ve never even been with me. How would you know?”

Sarah had bragged more than once about Lucas’ skills, calling him crazy and addictive, the kind of man a girl couldn’t forget.

Lilly grabbed his collar and yanked him down so their faces were almost touching. She spoke each word slowly, clearly. “Jace is wilder than you, more passionate than you, and he is more attentive too. He’s the only man I want in my bed.”
