Lilly wished she could just disappear. Why did there have to be a sales clerk in the family planning aisle?
To make things worse, she had no clue what she was supposed to buy.
“Um, just something simple,” Lilly managed to say.
The sales clerk picked up a box. “How about the basic kind?”
Lilly nodded and reached for it. “That’s fine.”
But the clerk didn’t hand her the box. Instead, she asked, “Sweetie, what size does your husband need? We’ve got small, medium, large, and extra large.”
Lilly just stared at her. Seriously? Did she really have to answer something this embarrassing?
“I... I’m not sure,” Lilly admitted, her face getting hotter by the second.
The clerk smiled. “Where is your husband? Maybe I can help.”
Lilly glanced over her shoulder at Jason. “He’s right there.”
The clerk followed her gaze, and her eyes widened. “Wow, he’s handsome.”
Jason was standing under the bright lights, looking every bit the model in his black suit, one hand holding a book, all long legs and broad shoulders. He looked so good it was almost unfair.
Lilly couldn’t help but sneak another look. He really was gorgeous, and his body was just... well, perfect. No wonder so many rich girls had chased after him back when he had nothing.
He looked amazing in a suit, honestly.
The clerk grinned. “Oh, honey, I think your husband needs the biggest size.”
Lilly was stunned. How could she tell just by looking? She had to admit, that was impressive.
The clerk handed her a small box. “Is one enough?”
Lilly bit her lip. “Maybe... I should get a few more.”
“Three, then?”
“Yeah, thank you.”
