Kent glanced at Jason, nodding toward his neck. “Boss, do you want to cover up that hickey?”
Jason checked his reflection in the mirror. Lilly had definitely left her mark on him last night.
He raised an eyebrow, looking way too pleased. “No need. Let’s go.”
Jason stepped out with Kent beside him. The moment they entered the hallway, every employee they passed greeted him politely. “Good morning, sir.”
He walked with easy confidence toward the conference room.
As soon as he disappeared from view, the place erupted with gossip. “Did you see the hickey on the boss’s neck? I can’t believe it. Someone actually gave him a hickey!”
“And the big meeting was pushed back today. All the execs were just waiting around for him. I heard he had someone hidden away in his office and they only just woke up.”
“Oh wow, I can already imagine the drama.”
“I bet it was more like a wild scene than a dramatic one.”
Everyone was buzzing, unable to focus on anything but the latest rumor.
Meanwhile, Lilly had finally gotten up and made her way into the office. Kent had already arranged for breakfast to be delivered. “Lilly, good morning. The boss had all this set up for you. Please, help yourself.”
Lilly sat down. “Thank you.”
Kent slipped out, and she noticed a bunch of employees peeking in through the glass, doing their best to get a look at her. Clearly, everyone was dying to know who their future boss’s girlfriend was.
Lilly’s cheeks burned. She had no idea why Jason insisted on bringing her here. Now the entire company knew about them. The whole thing felt way too public.
She tried her best to ignore the stares and started eating, but right then her phone rang, the melody cutting through the chatter.
It was Lucas again.
Lilly answered, her voice sharp. “Lucas, this is the last time I’m picking up. I’m blocking your number after this. You’re seriously messing with my life.”
Lucas sounded cold. “Lilly, you spent the night with Jason, didn’t you? You slept with him. Are you that shameless?”
