The Genius Ex-Wife’s Revenge Portfolio novel Chapter 888

Jason was impossible to resist tonight. Everything about him made her want to stay in this dream forever. Just one perfect night before they had to go their separate ways.

Jason was over the moon. Lilly would never know that marrying her had always been his biggest dream. All he wanted was to bring her home, to make her his wife.

He held her hands gently. “Lilly, I want you again.”

Lilly stared at him, stunned. She was completely exhausted. How could he still have so much energy?

“Jason, let’s save it for next time. We should take it easy, right? There’s plenty of time ahead of us.”

He grinned. “I’ll make it up to you tomorrow, I promise. But tonight, I need you too much to stop.”

He pulled the blanket up, wrapping them both in warmth. The room filled with Lilly’s soft pleas and the breathless sounds of their night together.

Lilly woke up in Jason’s arms the next morning. He was still sleeping soundly.

She watched him, then reached out to gently touch his face. He had already put his mask back on before falling asleep. Her fingers traced his eyebrows, then moved along the sharp lines of his face. Maybe next time, she’d see him without the mask, just like before.

Jill once said, the one who loves more always loses. Deep down, Jill knew that person was always going to be Lilly.

And Lilly knew it too. She had already lost.

She could never just walk away from Jason, but now she had no choice but to leave him.

She took one last, lingering look at him, then quietly slipped out of his arms and got dressed. She found a pen and a small piece of paper and sat down to write a note. There were so many things she wanted to say, but when she tried to write them down, she didn’t know where to start.

In the end, Lilly wrote a single line. She set down the pen, picked up her bag, and got ready to leave. Before she walked out, she leaned down and pressed a soft kiss to Jason’s forehead.

“Jason, goodbye.”
