Roger strolled over just then, a familiar grin on his face. “Lilly, what are the odds? We meet again.”

Lilly couldn’t help but laugh a little. It really did feel like fate. The last time she’d gone to this restaurant, she’d bumped into Roger too.

She smiled at him. “Hey, Roger. Let me introduce you. This is my best friend, Ella Irvine.”

Roger nodded politely. “Ms. Irvine, nice to meet you.”

Ella replied, “Hello.”

Lilly turned back to Roger. “Are you here for dinner too?”

He smiled. “Yeah, that’s right.”

Before the conversation could go any further, Ella gave Lilly’s arm a quick tug. “Lilly, look. Mr. Farill just walked in.”

Jason had arrived.

Just hearing his name sent Lilly’s heart into overdrive. She hadn’t seen him in a whole month.

She spun around and spotted him instantly. Jason stood in the doorway, tall and striking, impossible to miss.

He was dressed in a sleek black suit that fit him perfectly, showing off those broad shoulders, trim waist, and impossibly long legs. He looked like he belonged on the cover of a magazine. More importantly, he wasn’t wearing his mask anymore. His face was completely visible now, and he looked even better than she remembered.

Lilly stared, her breath catching. His features were sharper, more mature, every angle and line somehow even more handsome than before. He radiated that magnetic energy that only comes with confidence and success, the kind that made her heart race.

As soon as Jason walked in, the whole restaurant seemed to pause. People turned to stare, and a group of young women by the window started whispering and giggling.
