He had deliberately called her “wife” again.
His voice was already low and magnetic, but now, whispering so softly and wickedly in her ear, it made Lilly’s knees feel weak. She really had no backbone.
The pharmacy owner had rarely seen a couple as stunning as Jason and Lilly. She smiled. “You two seem so in love.”
Jason held Lilly closer and raised an eyebrow. “Of course. I love my wife very much.”
Then Jason looked down at Lilly. “Wife, do you love me?”
Lilly could see the playful glint in his eyes. He was just messing with her.
Jason’s hand tightened on her shoulder. “Wife, do you love me or not?”
The nosy owner was watching her expectantly. Lilly had no choice but to force a polite, if awkward, smile. “I do.”
Jason pressed on. “Who do you love? Wife, what should you call me?”
He was going too far!
Lilly shot him a fierce glare.
Jason’s good mood only improved. “Wife, what should you call me? Say it.”
Lilly took a deep breath, then obediently murmured, “Hubby.”
She called him “hubby.”
Jason’s throat tightened as he swallowed hard, his gaze burning with intensity.
Lilly looked up at him, turning the tables. “What’s wrong, hubby?”
She deliberately put on a syrupy sweet voice, looking at him with wide eyes. “Hubby, I love you…”
