The Last Time I Cried Your Name novel Chapter 141

There was something almost overwhelming about this man. Just sitting there in his ridiculously elegant office, he barely had to say a word—just one glance, one question, and he felt like a king expecting everyone to bow.

No one Amy had ever interviewed could compare. This was a whole different level.

Sure, he was Petty’s soon-to-be ex, but more than that, he was Franco—the White family’s head, the one running the whole White Group empire.

Amy felt the pressure settling on her shoulders, but she put on her best professional smile. “Petty had another assignment today, so I’ll be handling your interview.”

Honestly, she thought Franco would blow up at the last-minute switch. She’d even braced herself for it.

But she’d totally misjudged him.

After she explained, or actually, after he just asked “Where’s Petty?” in that low, cold voice, Franco didn’t say another word to her. He kept his distance, barely even looking at her except when necessary.

The whole interview felt icy and remote. When it was finally done, Amy was still a little shocked. So all that resistance before... he’d really just been giving Petty a hard time.

Petty got Amy’s message later—a silly emoji with a little “Mission accomplished!” sticker underneath.

She paused, then smiled to herself. That had gone smoother than expected.

She texted back: “Lunch is on me.”

Amy answered right away, sending an embarrassed, wide-eyed emoji. Petty laughed. Amy was so easy to tease.
