The Last Time I Cried Your Name novel Chapter 273

When it came to relationships, no one was closer than him and Franco. Still, he and Franco and Harris had grown up together, brothers through and through. He couldn’t just sit back and watch Harris run himself ragged. What if something really happened to him?

Galen worried nonstop about the two of them. Seriously, what did he ever do to deserve this mess?

“Look, what I’m trying to say is that Felton’s just getting what was coming to him. He deserves it. But Harris didn’t actually do anything wrong… well, I guess he messed up too. He shouldn’t have gone after Petty, but it’s not like he actually crossed any big lines.”

He finished his little speech, hoping Franco might look a bit less pissed off.

Except, before he'd spoken, Franco's face had only been serious. Afterward, his whole expression turned stormy.

Did I say something wrong? Galen wondered.

“Felton’s going to suffer a lot more,” Franco said, his voice icy. “The Byron family has nothing to do with me.”

“You…” Galen clicked his tongue in frustration.

Hold on.

Galen sucked in a breath, replaying Franco’s words. Suddenly, he caught on to something different underneath.

Nothing to do with me.

So Franco was only after Felton. Whatever happened to the Byron family didn’t matter to him at all. As long as Galen stayed out of the Felton drama, and just helped Harris in other ways, Franco wouldn’t get involved.

Galen finally let himself relax. Only he could really figure out what Franco was thinking. They’d basically been brothers since before they were born.

“Oh, right, almost forgot the most important thing.” Galen stubbed out his cigarette and pulled a report out of his coat pocket, handing it over to Franco.

“This is the test report for the incense in your grandmother’s room. There’s also the tea she drank and everything she ate. Everything you had Jay pass to me for testing, I got it all checked.”
