The Last Time I Cried Your Name novel Chapter 314

"Petty..." Owen tried to say her name, blood pooling in his mouth, his wild, desperate eyes locked on the figure on the bed.

He looked like a wounded animal on its last legs, struggling to fight his way over to her.

But he never even finished saying her name. The grip on his collar suddenly clenched tight, yanking him clean off the floor, then slamming him down so hard the impact echoed through the room.

He heard something snap. Pain lit up his whole body. Blood filled his throat. He tried to speak, but all that came out was a broken whimper, the name stuck behind all that blood.

Downstairs, Aaron made sure his team had blocked off every exit in the villa. Parrish entered the room upstairs and the scene hit him all at once: Owen half-unconscious in the corner, face a mess of blood, wrist at an awkward angle, one leg pinned beneath the heavy boot of a stranger.

The man holding him down stood tall and broad in a black baseball cap and a matching mask. His presence was like a chill that seeped into your bones, an air of violence that made everyone tense the second they walked in.

He’d already gotten here, ahead of everyone else.

Across the silence, a soft, stifled moan slipped from the bed. It was barely audible but somehow cut right through the heaviness in the room.

Parrish looked over. The woman on the bed had her head and shoulders buried under the blanket. She couldn’t stay still, her fair legs tangled in the sheets, feet scuffing restlessly like she was battling something only she could feel.

Parrish’s calm eyes flickered. He stepped up, reaching for the blanket—

A gloved hand suddenly blocked his way, stopping him cold.

He looked up, eyes steady, meeting the silent warning from the other man.

Malcom didn’t say a word. He ripped off the messy, bloodstained glove and let it drop to the floor. He walked straight over, scooped Petty up, blanket and all, and headed for the door, moving quickly and without hesitation.

At the top of the stairs, Aaron saw Malcom carrying a woman and rushed forward. He sounded out of breath, worried. "J, what happened to Petty?"

Malcom ignored everyone. Carrying Petty, he took the stairs two at a time, set her gently in the back seat of a black Mercedes, slid into the front without a word, and drove off.
