The Last Time I Cried Your Name novel Chapter 410

After Galen hung up on Franco, he yanked on a pair of pants, grabbed a hoodie, and headed out of his room. As he went down the stairs, his feet felt shaky in a way he’d never experienced before. All he could think about was what Franco had just said… Manley. My and Petty’s son.

Galen’s whole scalp tingled as the words sank in. Wasn’t his nephew gone before he’d even been born? The doctors said there was no hope. So how was he alive in a hospital now?

He didn’t hesitate. Snatching up the keys to his best sports car, he was just about to walk out the door when the butler stopped him, saying, “Galen, she called earlier. She said she won’t be back tonight.”

Galen’s fingers tightened around the keys. He let out a cold laugh. “She’s really testing her limits these days. I’ll go get her myself later.”

The old butler looked awkward, but Galen didn’t care. He made for the garage with long strides.

When he got to the hospital, he headed straight for the intensive care unit and found Newell, the guy Franco had told him about. At first, Newell acted clueless. Even when Galen mentioned Manley’s name, he still didn’t budge. It wasn’t until his phone vibrated with a message from Franco that Newell finally believed it—Franco had really trusted Galen with Abacus.

“Did something happen to Franco?” Newell asked as he took Galen down the hall toward the sterilization room. His face was tight with worry.

Nobody knew about Abacus. Franco had never mentioned him to anyone. If he’d handed him over to someone else… something had to be wrong.

“Take care of the kid. Wait for him to come back,” Newell said quietly.

Entering the sterilization room, Galen was surrounded by the sharp scent of disinfectant. He kept his composure and went through the motions of washing and scrubbing up. Just when he thought the process was complicated enough, the medical staff handed him an isolation gown. Every step made Galen feel more and more unsettled inside.
