He had almost killed her once.
“Whether it’s worth it or not, that’s for me to decide.” Charlotte’s voice was cool but there was no mistaking how steady she sounded. “You know what’s going on, so don’t go making trouble.”
N Organization had people guarding everywhere. Even if he wanted to act, it was pointless.
“Once you make up your mind, there’s no changing it.” Newell was so shaken it took him a while to find his words. “Just… take care of yourself. Nothing is more important than you… and the baby. I’m still hoping to be an uncle, you know.”
Charlotte’s phone was on speaker, so Anthony heard everything. He answered for her, “Just wait and see.”
Newell could only shake his head, half amused, half helpless. When the call ended, he immediately called someone else. “Nine’s heading to the Isle of Veil. Things are a mess this time. I want DM and the whole Churchill family to cover her.”
The Churchill family?
One of his men looked so shocked his mouth dropped open, speechless.
Last time Nine came to the Isle of Veil, the Churchill family was her enemy.

He couldn’t even begin to guess how many groups would be fighting to protect Nine now.
…
Imperial Heights.
“I’ve made up my mind. I’m going with you to the Isle of Veil.” Nora’s hands were clenched, her jaw set, her voice full of determination.
“Hey, listen to me.” Franco reached out and gently touched her hair, his voice soft, almost pleading. “It’s dangerous, you…”
“Dangerous?” Nora tipped her chin up and met Franco’s eyes, sharp and unflinching. “I’ve been to that dump before. Franco, did you forget what I actually do?”
She wasn’t just some medical researcher.
Charlotte got her genes from Nora, after all.
