Jackson and Adonis arrived a day ahead to make sure security was tight. The hotel felt like a fortress, with layers of guards everywhere you looked.

Jackson kept his head slightly lowered, his brow creased with worry. “Everything’s gone way too smoothly. It doesn’t feel real.”

“Let’s hear it,” Anthony said, helping Charlotte into a chair before turning to Jackson.

“Solenia, N Organization, X Organization… So many people have slipped onto the Isle of Veil by now,” Jackson said honestly. “No matter how careful we are, this is their home turf. There’s no way they haven’t noticed.”

The truth was, the Hawk family probably realized their people had arrived. But they hadn’t tried to stop anyone.

Wasn’t Allanson supposed to be scheming to take over Solenia and N Organization, to get total control over Charlotte? Sitting back and doing nothing just wasn’t his style.

Either he was totally confident, or he was setting a trap.

“This is going to get messy. If things explode, both sides will fight with everything they’ve got.” Franco’s thick brows were knit tight. His deep voice had a cold edge, and his eyes were icy. “Allanson’s clever and ruthless. Don’t take him lightly.”

“Yes, Franco.” Jackson, Adonis, and Hans all nodded in agreement.

“If nothing unexpected happens, we’ll stick to the plan,” Anthony said. He glanced at Charlotte, who looked as calm as ever. After a pause, he asked her quietly, “What do you think?”

“Hm?” Charlotte raised her eyes, blinking without much emotion. “I don’t really have any thoughts. Let him play whatever games he wants. Worst case, we fight.”

She wasn’t scared of a fight. So there was nothing else to worry about.

Hearing her say that, Nora, Franco, and Anthony all fell quiet. The three of them were anxious, worried for her and the baby. Charlotte, on the other hand, seemed completely at ease.

And maybe that was for the best.
