Seeing Queenie staring unblinkingly at her, Charlotte furrowed her brow and parted her red lips. "Do you have something to say?"
"No."
Queenie stood perfectly straight. The arrogant aura she had adopted while impersonating her idol had completely vanished. "It's true. I'm a fake."
"Queenie!"
The assistant's face drained of color at her confession.
He had just managed to get in touch with Aurelia and was desperately trying to formulate a damage control plan.
Now, all of that was completely useless.
Charlotte was taken aback, narrowing her eyes as she studied the girl intently.
When they first bumped into each other in the lounge, Queenie had been dead set on being the real deal.
Giving up without even a fight?
Admitting to fraud in front of the entire Medical Association meant she would likely be blacklisted from the industry forever.
"I'm sorry."
Queenie walked up to Charlotte, looking at her with absolute sincerity. She wanted to explain, but didn't know where to start. "Whether you believe it or not, I'm genuinely glad you're alive."
Charlotte stayed quiet, turning the words over in her mind.
The girl certainly seemed genuine.
"I said it before, the position of president belongs only to you." Queenie repeated her earlier sentiment, her voice slightly hoarse. "Only you can take the medical field to new heights and truly impact global healthcare."
Charlotte pursed her lips, a flicker of surprise crossing her eyes.
She really had said that.
This girl... was actually quite interesting.
"I'm sorry. I apologize again."
Queenie bowed her head. It took a long moment before she stood straight again, adding one final warning. "I'll accept whatever punishment comes my way.
But be careful of Aurelia's pharmaceutical group. Those people... they're absolute animals."
