"Stroller."
Once Anthony found his footing, he gently placed the babies into the double stroller.
The two little ones, pacifiers in their mouths, blinked their big, beautiful eyes and looked around in pure curiosity.
Thrilled by their first big outing, they happily kicked their tiny legs.
"Are you excited to see mommy?"
Anthony bent down, softly wiping a smudge from his son's cheek as he coaxed them in a low, gentle voice.
Frederick blinked up at him, then let his pacifier drop to flash a massive, gummy smile.
Ophelia, on the other hand, was gripping her pacifier and kicking so enthusiastically that one of her little pink socks flew right off.
"You both have to be on your best behavior. We're giving mommy a surprise."
Anthony murmured as he slipped his daughter's sock back on and tucked a soft blanket over them before pushing the stroller inside.
Hans trailed behind him with a massive diaper bag, staring at his boss's back. His feelings were incredibly complicated.
The CEO used to carry briefcases holding billion-dollar contracts.
Now...
he was hauling bottles, diapers, and baby food.
He looked like a full-time nanny.
Hearing that the choreography had hit a snag, Anthony had been worried it would upset Charlotte. He had immediately cleared his entire schedule just to bring the kids down and cheer her up.
Hopefully, she would actually be cheered up.
...
Inside the studio, everything was set.
All non-essential personnel were cleared from the stage area.
"Lights, music."
At the director's command, the studio plunged into darkness. A haunting, melodic beat began to pulse, filling the air.
Then, a sharp beam of neon blue light struck the frosted glass stage. Plumes of pale smoke slowly rose, drifting across the floor...
turning the entire set into a hypnotic, dreamlike illusion.
Anthony walked onto the set just as the lights flared to life.
"What are you doing here?"
Kenneth's eyes nearly bugged out of his head when he saw Anthony. His voice trembled involuntarily. "Oh, you brought the babies too?"
