Silence stretched across the room.
Charlotte continued her hacking. Five minutes later, she glanced at the pale little boy.
"Let her and Elena go."
The kid was far too young to fend for himself.
"No."
Salazar Vargas immediately refused. His expression hardened as he shot back, "He's my ultimate trump card. I'm not letting him out of my sight."
It was painfully obvious.
Tansy Darnell and Donald weren't afraid of death. The boy was the only leverage left to control them.
"I can let Tansy go, though," Salazar said, shooting his daughter a look of sheer disgust.
"I'm not leaving." Tansy shook her head, looking weakly at Donald.
She originally wanted to tell Donald to leave, but meeting the man's resolute gaze, the words died in her throat.
If she stayed, Lottie wouldn't be safe, and Donald definitely wouldn't leave without her.
"Let Hector go."
Donald gently stroked Tansy's hair, his voice low. "Whatever gives you peace of mind, we'll do it."
"Fine, I'll release Hector Gates." Salazar looked at Charlotte. "But you have to add three more countries to the list."
Their grand scheme involved infiltrating ten countries in total.
So far, five security systems had been breached.
Once the remaining five were down, they would have absolutely nothing to worry about.
"Done."
Charlotte agreed without a second thought. "I just hope you keep your word."
"Naturally."
Salazar was too blinded by his impending victory. His entire focus was glued to the system, completely missing the sly glint in the girl's eyes.
However, Donald caught that subtle look.
What was Lottie planning?
For the next twenty minutes, the room was eerily quiet.
Charlotte effortlessly tore through the security networks of two more countries.
Just as the third system was about to collapse, she paused and looked at Salazar.
"No problem."
