She froze, dragging her gaze from the glowing red surgical light to the folder. A tamper-proof seal ran across the flap, stamped with the law firm's official seal.

"...What is this?"

"The final document Mr. Huntington executed," Daniel replied. "He instructed that if the surgery surpassed ten hours and he hadn't come out, or if he entered the ICU and failed to wake up, I was to give this to you."

Clara did the math in her head.

It had been nearly eleven hours since he entered the sterile prep area.

Simon frowned darkly. "Daniel, are you out of your mind? The surgery isn't even over. Why the hell are you bringing this up now?"

Daniel lowered his eyes. "I am simply fulfilling my duty as his legal representative and executing my client's instructions."

If he had a choice, he never would have pulled this document out.
