Taking a deep breath, Clive pulled his ID from his wallet and slapped it onto the counter.
The nurse picked it up, compared it to him, and said slowly, "Identity confirmed. There are no issues."
"Mr. Sloan, correct?"
"Please roll up your sleeve."
Taking a blood test shouldn't be this much of a hassle.
Clive impatiently yanked up his sleeve and roughly shoved his arm through the window opening.
The nurse picked up the tourniquet and gave a professional reminder, "There might be a slight pinch. Please bear with it for a moment."
The moment the needle pierced his skin, Clive involuntarily furrowed his brows, hissing in pain. The look he gave the nurse turned visibly annoyed.
"Did you do that on purpose?"
"It's just drawing blood! Why does it hurt so much?"
Clive felt that choosing to come to Josiah's hospital for his checkup was a massive mistake.
From this morning until now, ever since he took his first step into this hospital, nothing had gone right.
The nurse hadn't expected such a dramatic reaction from Clive.
"I apologize, Mr. Sloan. Your veins are a bit fine, and I did warn you beforehand that it might pinch a little."
"We're not quite done collecting the blood yet, so please hold still for just a moment longer."
The vial was quickly filled. The nurse deftly withdrew the needle and handed him a cotton swab.
"All done."
"There might still be a little bleeding at the puncture site. I recommend applying pressure for five minutes before letting go, and please don't rub it."
It was finally over.
After having a vial of blood drawn, Clive felt a wave of physical weakness wash over him.
He snatched the cotton swab, pressing it hard against the puncture mark, his tone still aggressive.
"When will the results of this blood test be out?"
The nurse replied while attaching the label, "If it were a standard test, the results would be out this afternoon. However, your blood panel includes quite a few specific screenings, so it might take a bit longer."
"The results should be ready in about three days."
