Darin received the news immediately.
He and Max sped toward the Ross family villa. As they pulled up to the front gates, Max turned to look at him. "Felicia is home today. Are you sure you are ready to go inside?"
Darin's nerves were pulled taut as wire. His fingers clenched into white-knuckled fists, and his handsome face was shadowed with gloom. The dark depths of his eyes were swimming with agonizing conflict.
"Why don’t you stay out here and wait?" Max decided. "I will go inside and assess the situation first."
In the end, Max walked into the Ross family villa alone.
The moment he stepped through the door, Darin's phone buzzed in his pocket. He pulled it out and answered. "Hello."
It was Jeremy. Mason had correctly guessed that Felicia was in serious trouble involving the Curtis family. The moment he finished his call with Felicia, he had immediately dialed Jeremy to warn him.
"I am standing outside the villa right now," Darin said, his voice tight. "I do not know the exact details yet. Max just went inside."
Max strode straight into the living room. Felicia was in the middle of intensely arguing with the law enforcement officers. The moment Max appeared, his overwhelming, authoritative aura commanded the room, instantly plunging the chaotic space into absolute silence.
Max walked straight toward Felicia, his eyes locked on her flushed cheeks and trembling frame, clearly agitated by extreme emotional distress. Felicia looked up at the man approaching her.
He stopped right in front of her, reached out, and smoothly took the legal document from her hands. He scanned the pages for a few seconds before casually handing it back to the lead officer. "We will be filing an official appeal with the court. As for how this fraudulent guarantee agreement was fabricated, we will need time to investigate the truth."
The officer accepted the file. Even though he maintained a professional tone, he could not help but feel intimidated by the crushing dominance radiating from the man standing before him. "You are within your rights to file an appeal. However, in accordance with standard procedures, all assets registered under Mr. Ross's name will be frozen within three days."
A wave of dizzying nausea hit Ava the moment she heard those words. Colton instinctively reached out to support her, but she aggressively shoved his hands away. Colton swallowed hard, overwhelmed by a bitter, unspeakable misery.
Once the court officials finally packed up and left, a heavy silence settled over the living room.
