Twin Cupids at Work Daddy Come Home novel Chapter 596

“Julian! Stop it right now!”

Maxwell’s eyes went wide as he saw what was happening. He shouted, desperate to make Julian let go.

Claire spotted the Ballard family crowding in. Relief flooded her, and whatever she was about to say died in her throat. She rolled her eyes back, going limp, pretending she was about to faint.

Except she wasn’t pretending. Her face was already turning a scary shade of purple. Julian’s grip was real, and she was running out of air.

“Someone help her. Now!” Maxwell yelled.

The Ballard family’s people rushed forward, but Miles and his team quickly blocked their way.

Tension filled the room. Maxwell couldn’t take it anymore and snapped, “Mr. Grayson, I’m telling you, let her go right now. Or we will have to step in.”

Julian stared at Claire, his eyes dark and cold.

He was so close. If the Ballard family hadn’t barged in, she probably would have broken. Now she was silent, clinging to whatever secret she was hiding.

He wanted to see what mattered more to her—her life, or the identity she was protecting.

“Talk,” he ordered.

“I… I don’t know… I really… don’t know…” Claire’s voice was barely a whisper, so weak it was almost lost.

“If you keep going, she’s really going to die,” Miles warned, stepping in.

The Ballard family was here. If Julian killed her in front of them, there’d be no end to it. He’d be in huge trouble.

Julian’s eyes stayed icy and unreadable. Only when Claire finally stopped moving did he let go.

She dropped to the ground, heavy and limp.

Maxwell wasted no time. “Doctor! Get over here, now!”

The doctor grabbed his bag and rushed in. No one tried to stop him this time.

Julian’s face was dark and unreadable. The doctors glanced at him, then quickly looked away, a chill running through them.
