Twin Cupids at Work Daddy Come Home novel Chapter 749

The mother and daughter whispered their dark conspiracy in the corner, a shared sense of vindication washing over them as they practically tasted their impending victory.

Across the room, Denise's booming voice continued to hammer relentlessly at Madeline. "Did you hear me? You'd better apologize to Lincoln and Alianna right this second. Otherwise, we are never going to let you off the hook. I have never met a woman as viciously manipulative as you."

Denise glared daggers at her, but Madeline remained perfectly composed and detached. Her utter lack of reaction made Denise feel like she was punching thin air, only fueling her skyrocketing rage.

"Say something!"

"Get away! Who gave you the right to yell at our mommy!" Noah and Oliver, who had been playing in a nearby room, dashed out into the foyer. They shoved Denise hard, stepping protectively in front of Madeline like twin shields.

Denise sneered at the fierce, protective glares of the two little boys, her temper barely restrained.

Julian had lost his memories of them, and Christian hadn't so much as mentioned his great-grandsons in a year. As far as Denise was concerned, the patriarch didn't care about these brats at all, which meant she certainly didn't need to play nice.

"Get lost. This has nothing to do with you." Denise violently shoved the two boys aside.

The strength difference between an adult and toddlers was drastic. The boys stumbled back forcefully, but Madeline was there in a flash, catching them before they could fall.

"Mommy!"

"Mommy!"

"It's okay. Stay behind Mommy."

Madeline hadn't wanted to cause a scene in the Grayson estate. It was messy and entirely unnecessary.

But since trouble insisted on knocking at her door, she absolutely refused to tolerate it.

Tucking her children safely behind her, Madeline fixed a freezing stare on Denise. "You demand an apology. Just how exactly do you want me to apologize?"

Hearing the question, Denise's arrogance swelled to new heights.

She knew it. Madeline had just been running wild because no one had bothered to put her in her place. Otherwise, she wouldn't be acting so recklessly confident.

Today, Denise was going to teach her a lesson she would never forget and show her exactly what happens when you cross the Grayson family.

Denise lifted her chin haughtily. "You ruined my brother's career and bullied Alianna. If you want their forgiveness, it's very simple. Get down on your knees and grovel for forgiveness. Then, we might just let this slide."

"Denise, do not cross the line." Lucy's typically serene face was flushed with fierce anger.

Denise acted as if she hadn't heard a word.

Brian had been dead for years. Calling the crippled woman 'Lucy' was already doing her a favor. This entire estate would eventually belong to her father's branch of the family anyway. Why should she care about the opinions of a helpless widow?

Bolstered by her own entitlement, Denise's expression twisted into a triumphant sneer.

"Did you hear me? On your knees! Beg!" Denise barked, glaring down at Madeline.

Off to the side, Jane and Alianna were beside themselves with glee.

Seeing Madeline stay silent, the mother-daughter duo exchanged smug smirks. They had thought Madeline was so untouchable, but without Julian or Shelly here to protect her, she was too terrified to even breathe a word against Denise's wrath.

They stood tall, eagerly waiting for Madeline to crawl over and humiliate herself with an apology.

Just the thought of Madeline groveling before them was intensely satisfying.
