No one could say that Marnie was not beautiful, but then again, no one could say that she was not a b*tch too.
"Who told you I've absconded in sin?" Thea asked in an annoyed tone and with furrowed brows.
Marnie smirked. However, she was startled when she laid her eyes on Darryl.
It took her a few seconds to snap back to her senses, and when she did, she said in an exaggerated high-pitched voice, "Isn't that Darryl, the fugitive? You dare to show your face here?"
"Why won't I dare?" Darryl asked with a smile on his face. Then, he boldly sat down on a chair next to him.
Marnie became even more riled up with the provocation. "Do you think the Damien family will still accept you as their son-in-law? Count yourself lucky you were able to escape last time. You must be tired of living to show your face here!" Then, she turned to face the crowd and said, "Everyone, look! Darryl, the fugitive, has come back! And to the Damien family's banquet, no less!" She sneaked a gloating glance at Darryl while saying that. 'How dare a fugitive behave so impudently toward me. You'll be begging for mercy later!'
Immediately, all eyes turned on Darryl, and all h*ll broke loose in the hall.
"Darryl?"
"It's really him!"
"I can't believe he dares to turn up here!"
Everyone was looking at him with deep hatred in their eyes. They still had not forgotten all the casualties he caused when they attacked him. Hearing all the commotion, Donnie and Grady quickly made their way over.
