Perfect Husband, The Destined One novel Chapter 3912

Darryl was struck by her beautiful, smiling face. 'What's going on? Do the Princess and Grunt have a special relationship?'

Darryl slowly walked toward her and started to push her on the swing. At that time, he did not know that Grunt had spent 500 years being in charge of the Jade Fairyland's security and had often met with Princess Dorothy during that time. They eventually fell in love but never revealed their fondness due to the disparity in their status.

A few days ago, Grunt had told Princess Dorothy that he had something to give her, but he was dispatched to the Nine Mainland before he could do that. Princess Dorothy secretly rejoiced and thought he would finally confess his feelings to her. She had been waiting patiently for him to return, so she was naturally overjoyed to see him in the garden. Of course, she had no idea that the fake-Grunt was Darryl impersonating him.

Darryl was admiring Princess Dorothy's perfect figure up close and taking a deep breath at the same time to breathe in her scent. 'She smells so nice.' However, he quickly snapped himself out of it. 'No! I came here to get the glazed water. I shouldn't get distracted!'

"Grunt, you mentioned that you have something to give me before you left for the Nine Mainland. Well, what is it?" Princess Dorothy asked.

Darryl was struck dumb. How would he know what Grunt was planning on giving her? However, he dared not let the cat out of the bag and just mumbled something. "Really? I... I said that before?"

He pretended to be calm, but he was panicking. 'Sh*t! I have to find a way to get out of here quickly.'

Princess Dorothy got a little mad at his answer. She stopped swinging and, with a frown, asked, "Didn't you say that? Are you calling me a liar? I will punish you if you don't explain to me what's going on right that instant!"

'Sh*t!' Darryl felt like crying. 'This is not good!'

"Princess, I have come here to fetch the glazed water at the behest of His Majesty and have no time to spare. I promise I'll give you an explanation the next time I come back," Darryl said. He wiped the sweat off his brow and turned to leave.

"Stop right there!" Princess Dorothy stomped her feet angrily and grabbed his arm. "What glazed water? What I'm talking about now is the most important thing."

Darryl tried to break free from her grip, but during the process, something dropped out of his golden armor and landed on the ground with a thud. Stunned, both of them looked down at it at the same time. It was a letter decorated with delicate feathers. There was also a note on it—to be personally opened by Her Royal Highness Princess Dorothy.

Darryl's mind went blank when he saw the letter. He never expected Grunt had wanted to pass a note to Princess Dorothy. She picked up the letter and started reading it.

"There is a beautiful woman that I will never forget. One day without seeing her makes me go wild with longing. The phoenix is flying, and I search the seven seas for her..."

Her face flushed red like a tomato while her eyes danced with infinite joy. 'Grunt is finally confessing his feelings for me!'

'Wow!' Darryl's eyes widened. 'It is bold of Grunt to confess his feelings through a letter!'

He was well-versed in ancient and modern poems. He immediately recognized the verse from the book called the Untouchable Lovers, which Sima Xiangru wrote during the Han Dynasty. It was obvious he was trying to court Princess Dorothy by giving her the poem.
