Zack remembered that he was the emperor, and thus, he held in his anger. He flashed a fake smile and said, "Very well, very well. Seems that the lowly prisoners are still showing off like this. I'd like to see if they're half as brave at the executioner's blade."
As he spoke, Zack raised a hand. "All prisoners on death row shall be executed tomorrow afternoon."
"Yes, Your Highness!"
More than ten guards walked over and shoved Chester into the dungeon as the words rang through the air.
Zack stared at Jedidiah with a slanted glance, chuckling as he spoke, "Jedidiah is all to thank for tonight's successful takedown of Chester Wilson and Dax Sanders. I am a man of my word, and I shall heavily reward Jedidiah and all the men of the Sword Sect for this."
"Thank you, Your Highness."
Jedidiah's expression was nothing but humble as he spoke. Then, a thought seemed to come to him, and he said, "If you have any other requests, don't hesitate to voice them out."
"Hoho!"
Zack smiled lightly. "Speak as you wish, Jedidiah! No need for such formalities."
Whew!
Jedidiah took a deep breath, unable to hide the resentment. "I wish to execute Dax and the rest by myself tomorrow…"
His oldest pupil had died at the blade of the Carters, and he vowed to take revenge. Despite not being able to do the deed himself, to execute them personally the next day would be the closest thing to rewarding them with the justice they deserved.
"I thought this was a great deal." Zack stopped short before smiling. "This all makes sense. It's allowed."
Jedidiah was overwhelmed with emotion by Zack's response. "Thank you, Your Highness."
Several figures clad in golden armor soared over from a distance as he spoke. Their faces were covered in masks, radiating authority.
Huh?
Everyone, including Zack and Jedidiah, frowned darkly.
"Who's that?"
"How dare they break into the palace dungeon?"
"Halt right there!"
