The military green SUV pulled up outside a hospital.
Anthea had thought that it was only an excuse, but she was surprised to see that he had really brought her here
While she was blinking in bewilderment, he had walked around the vehicle to her side.
The door of the passenger's seat was pulled open.
He leaned over and reached out toward her with his long arms.
Holding her by the waist and the back of her knees, he moved her out of the SUV without any difficulty.
Anthea was surprised. "What? Uncle-in-law, you don't have to carry me anymore, do you?"
She let him carry her when her classmates were around, but her ankle was fine, and she could walk on her own.
Adam held her tighter and said, "I want to carry you."
Anthea's face turned as red as the sunset glow. He was flirting with her again!
Adam carried her all the way from the parking lot to the emergency room. After making an appointment, he carried her into the consulting room.
"Please give her a full-body examination," he said to the doctor.
Hearing this, Anthea raised her hand and said, "That's a bit over the top. Although the cave was very deep, I'm not hurt! I can't even feel the pain in my butt now. I don't need the examination..."
"No, I'm still worried," Adam insisted.
When she looked into his deep eyes, Anthea stopped objecting. She was as tame as a kitten.
According to Adam's request, the doctor conducted a full-body inspection and X-ray on her. Adam only stopped frowning after he confirmed that there were no internal or external injuries.
There were several scratches on the back of Anthea's hand and on her neck. They were made by the leaves when she fell.
They weren't deep and could only be spotted when one looked very closely, but Adam asked the doctor to treat the scratches with iodine. That way, thin scabs would be formed overnight, and she wouldn't have any scars.
The doctor asked her with a smile, "Is he your family member?"
Anthea turned to look at him.
Adam was standing by her side in his military uniform and with one hand in his pocket. His shoulders were broad, and his posture was perfect. He was looking at her with an unblinking gaze, his eyes filled with concern.
She thought of what happened a year ago.
Back then when he took her to the hospital because of her injury, the doctor misunderstood their relationship. She awkwardly explained that he was only her uncle-in-law...
"Yes!" Anthea nodded and emphasized, "He's my boyfriend!"
After she said that, she could feel his eyes on her, and the temperature of her cheeks was rising.
"In that case, please go pay the bill!"
Adam took the payment note and walked out of the consulting room.
After he left, the doctor whispered, "Young lady, your boyfriend cares about you very much!"
She had never seen such a boyfriend before. The man doted on his girlfriend and was so worried when she barely had any scratches on her.
Anthea said sweetly, "Yes, he cares about me very much!"
"I envy you so much!" The doctor said sincerely.
"Thank you." Anthea scratched her head shyly and felt even happier.
Her scratches couldn't be called wounds at all. After they were treated, Anthea also left the room and went to wait in the corridor. The emergency room was the busiest. New patients could come in at any minute. She couldn't stay in the consultation room for too long.
She sat on a chair and waited.
Adam hadn't come back yet, and there weren't many people in the corridor. The lights outside were already on, and she could see her reflection on the window.
