Purchased A Mr. Right novel Chapter 1198

Adam's finger gently swept across her eyes and brows as he said, "Yes, you're qualified."

She was obviously asking for his praise. At that critical moment, she created a chance and let Kairi escape first. It was more because she was kind-hearted.

Someone's phone began to vibrate.

It was Adam's. He kept his posture and took his phone out from his trouser pocket.

Only by a casual glance with her sharp eyes, Anthea saw "Amelie Celestin" on the screen. Almost immediately, she pricked up her ears.

Adam looked at the name, picked it up, and put his phone beside his ear.

However, since he did not put Amelie on speaker, Anthea, though with rapt attention, could not hear her voice clearly. Well, Adam just responded with a few words, and then the call ended.

As soon as he put down his phone, she asked, pretending to be careless, "Who was it?"

"Amelie," Adam said, "She called to see if you're okay."

"Oh!" Anthea nodded.

Her fingertips gently touched his palm, and thinking of something, she asked, "Wasn't she caught in a beast trap in the mountains? Is she alright?"

"She's fine," Adam said calmly and gave her a look of surprise.

She was lying in the hospital, and he wondered how she could be in the mood to care about others?

Anthea was whining, begging for more information.

It seemed that Adam had no intention of talking more about Amelie, so she decided not to pursue the matter.

At nine o'clock, someone came to visit her.

The ward door was pushed open, and Gavin, who was in a military uniform, came in with a simple and honest smile.

Anthea did not expect that there would be so many people to see her tonight!

She felt flattered and asked Gavin to sit down. "Hey, it's so late, and you should take a rest now. I'll have to stay in the hospital for a few more days. I guess it'd be better for you to come tomorrow!"

"It's okay." Gavin shook his head and said.

"Thank you so much for visiting me even when it is late at night!" Anthea said gratefully.

Gavin, a little embarrassed, rubbed his hands and said, "It'll take you some days to recover from the injury in the bones. You have to take good care of yourself. See? Adam is distressed greatly about your sufferings! Do you know how anxious we all were when knowing you're missing? Fortunately, you had a narrow escape from any further harm they might have done to you. Otherwise... Anyway, you're lucky in misfortune!"

Seeing her in the hospital bed with her leg in a cast, Gavin felt incredibly guilty.

He felt that her suffering had something to do with him.

Amelie was so persistent in pursuing Adam. As their comrade who had known her for many years, Gavin was so touched by her persistence that he finally agreed to create a chance for her.

It was true that no one had expected an accident. But if he had not called Adam out of the tent, she might not be in danger, get injured, and lay there now. What if the two gangsters really...

Gavin thought that it was hard for him to absolve himself of the blame.

Anthea certainly did not know what he was thinking. She smiled and nodded. "Yes!"

"Adam, feel free to ask me for help if there's anything in the army! Since it'll take her a long time to recover from the injury, I'll give you my home leave at the end of the year. This way, you can take better care of Anthea!" Gavin said.

Adam nodded and said, "Then thank you."

His thanks made Gavin feel even more ashamed.

Like the young couple, they had to come over to see her personally before they could feel at ease. Not long after they sat down to talk, Gavin stood up and said goodbye.

When he was about to walk out of the ward, he paused.

Gavin turned around and looked at Anthea in the hospital bed. He wanted to say something but stopped on second thought. In the end, he said, "Anthea, I'm sorry!"

"Ah?" Anthea was full of confusion.

However, Gavin said nothing more and hurriedly left.
