Purchased A Mr. Right novel Chapter 1263

After finish an operation in the morning, Anthea had two more in the afternoon.

In the evening, Anthea left the operating room exhausted ly.

It had already passed off time. Mila, who was on duty, accompanied her to the staff canteen for dinner.

Anthea and Mila reached the first floor by elevator. When they were about to walk to the back door, Anthea suddenly saw a tall and sturdy figure ahead of them. She shrank hurriedly and leaned against the wall.

Feeling confused, Mila asked, "Dr. Lee, are you okay?"

"I'm fine!" Anthea shook her head and explained, "It's just that my period came this afternoon. I feel a little uncomfortable!"

"Take care!" Mila said.

Anthea smiled and reached out her head to look around.

Adam seemed to have finished visiting Carter and strode through the lobby of the hospital.

Over the years abroad, Anthea graduated from Columbia University and followed Vincent to nearly a hundred remote countries to help in disaster areas and provide medical aid.

With a medical kit on her back, Anthea traveled and saved many lives.

She once went to a pandemic area where most of the patients were children. Although Anthea and her teammates did their best, some of the infected children had died. Fortunately, most of the children had recovered.

At night, in the tent, Anthea couldn't sleep. Looking at the starry sky, she would suddenly burst into tears.

Anthea lived with a ten-year-old local black girl, whom she had treated for a short time. The little girl asked her in English, "Anthea, why are you crying?"

Anthea answered, "I just suddenly thought of someone."

The little girl asked, "But why are you crying?"

Anthea didn't answer but burst into tears.

The little girl kept asking, "Do you miss him very much?"

Anthea answered, "I do."

The little girl tilted her head and asked, "Can't you go see him?"

After pausing for a while, Anthea said in a choked voice, "I can't..."

With tears falling, she buried herself in her knees and let tears flow.

Anthea opened her eyes and saw a large part of the pillow was soaked by her tears.

She dreamed of some memory fragments of her living in other countries from three or four years ago. How could she cry so much?

The apartment where Anthea lived was the staff dormitory of the hospital. According to the arrangements by the hospital, she was given an individual apartment. Although it was not very spacious, it had all the necessary facilities and was not far from the hospital. It was convenient for Anthea to commute.

Anthea got up from the bed.

Sitting in front of the French window, Anthea took out a cigarette and a lighter from the inner layer of her purse.

The pungent smell of tobacco spread from Anthea's mouth and nose, making her cough twice. When she smoked again, she spat out a mouthful of smoke smoothly, and the white smoke curled up in the air.

Anthea learned to smoke.

When she was in foreign countries, she could only

ease her loneliness and sadness with nicotine.

She didn't enjoy smoking and didn't smoke often. Only when she was in a bad mood would she take a cigarette.

Other than bringing her comfort, nicotine could also ease her nerves and calm her down.

What happened in the past came to Anthea's mind all at once.

When she saw Adam smoking, she stubbornly said that she wanted to smoke. And Adam's face was sullen.

Adam took a deep drag of the cigarette and puffed it into Anthea's mouth. She was so choked that her tears almost came out. Adam asked her in a serious voice that if she still wanted to smoke. She shook her head with grievances. And Adam pinched her nose lovingly...

As Anthea was thinking, the memories started to flood her mind.

Anthea tried her best to stop thinking.

After smoking a cigarette, Anthea calmed down. There was no trace of emotion in her eyes. Then she lay back in bed and fell asleep.

The next day, the morning sun rose.

Anthea returned to the second general surgery department in high spirits.
