After Carter stood up, Anthea would have to bow slightly.
Adam was really standing too close
Without raising her head, Adam's breath still lingered in her nose.
She acted professional.
She placed the echoscope on Carter's body. After listening for a long while, she didn't find anything unusual. She then reached out her hand and tapped on Carter's stomach, "Brother Carter, does it hurt here?"
"It hurts a little!" Carter hummed.
"What about here?" Anthea looked serious and tapped another part of his stomach.
"It also hurts a little!" Carter continued humming.
After answering her, he would wink at her.
Adam was expressionless.
Anthea bent over and checked carefully again. She didn't find anything unusual. It did not make sense. When she was considering whether she should ask Carter to go through further examination with more precise instruments, Carter suddenly said, "Anthea, it doesn't hurt now!" "It doesn't hurt anymore?" Anthea was surprised at the randomness of the pain.
Carter nodded and said in a low voice, "Oh! I know. Could it be the spicy strip I ate this morning that caused the stomachache?"
Anthea was speechless.
She sighed helplessly and said with a frown, "Brother Carter, your stomach is very fragile now, so you need to pay special attention to your diet!"
"I know, I know!" Carter grinned, revealing a row of white teeth, "Hehe, I'm too greedy to keep from eating that. The medicine you prescribed for me yesterday is still there. I'll take some pills later!"
Anthea touched her forehead tiredly, "I'll arrange an operation for you tomorrow afternoon!"
"Okay! Thank you. Anthea!" Carter smiled.
After making sure he was fine, Anthea breathed a sigh of relief.
She put away the echoscope and was ready to stand straight.
She suddenly stumbled.
She had maintained the stance of stooping for a long time. Also, She wanted to keep her distance from Adam that she had been straining her body.
Her legs were numb that she did not stand firm and fell back.
Anthea's first reaction was to grab the bedside cabinet next to her, but someone was faster than her.
Adam had put his long arms around her waist.
Held by the tall figure, Anthea looked up and ran into his dark eyes.
Her breathing instantly became disordered.
His palm was pressed against her lower back. With the white cloak between them, she could feel the roughness of his hand.
Carter sat down on the hospital bed, shaking his legs and looking up at the suspended ceiling. On his face was an expression that said, "I'm air, you guys continue."
Adam kept the pose.
Anthea struggled, "I have stood firm, thank you!"
It was only then that Adam took his hand back.
Anthea put her hands into the white coat pocket and curled up. She calmly said, "Brother Carter, call me when you feel uncomfortable. I have a patient waiting for me. I'll go to work then!"
After she left the ward, Adam followed her.
Hearing the footsteps behind her, Anthea frowned and turned back, "What's the business?" "I was hoping to know more about Carter's surgery." Adam said.
Anthea could find no more excuses to avoid him, so she explained seriously, "The serious part of gastric perforation is that the gastric juice will flow into the abdominal cavum, causing chemical or fungous peritonitis, which will be very dangerous!
"But fortunately, Brother Carter's was chronic perforation and would not cause adhesion or atrophy."
"So the conventional surgical treatment will do, and he will recover soon after the operation! Uncle Adam, you don't have to worry!"
Hearing the last sentence, Adam slightly narrowed his dark eyes.
Anthea also noticed it.
