It was winter now. And the weather was getting much colder.
This semester was also coming to an end. At the end of the year, the college life became busy. In addition to facing the endless exams, the students also had a lot of courses to prepare for promotion.
Crystal felt very tired, but she had no difficulty with her study.
She had always been ranked first in the school and was very well-liked by all the teachers. After the last exam today, she went to help the professor do research with one of her classmates.
During the break, the two of them went to the corridor to get some fresh air.
Outside the window, there were only a few rays of setting sun. Students walking around with their textbooks could be seen everywhere.
Crystal dialed a number and still heard the female voice of the system.
She put her phone down in disappointment.
After Erik returned to the army, he had never come back again, nor contacted her. The calls she made were either hung up or not answered as before.
Crystal's face was filled with worry.
It had already been a month.
During this period, she had never seen Erik.
When her classmate saw this, she asked jokingly, "What's wrong? Did you quarrel with your boyfriend?"
"No, I made a mistake. And he was mad at me!" Crystal still immersed herself in her thoughts and replied subconsciously.
"Oh, it doesn't matter. Just apologize to him. He’ll forgive you!" Her classmate winked at her and said.
Crystal sighed and stroked the edge of her phone. She really hoped that things would go as her classmate had said!
Suddenly, her classmate raised her hand to cover her stomach. "Are you hungry, Crystal? My stomach is painful. I really need to eat something!"
Seeing that her classmate's expression was not good, Crystal hurriedly said, "No, I'm not hungry yet. You go ahead. Go buy something to eat!"
"But what about the lab? We promised the professor that we would complete it today!"
"It doesn't matter. I'll keep working on it now. After you've finished eating and brought some food for me, we can do it together. No worry. We can complete it!"
Hearing these words, her classmate did not refuse. She nodded and said gratefully, "Well, okay. I’ll go eat something first. Send me a message when you figure out what you want to eat!"
"All right!" Crystal smiled.
After her classmate left, Crystal put on the mask again and went back to the laboratory.
After washing the bottles and jars she needed, she once again focused her work. After putting down the flask, she picked up the pen and began to record it on the notebook.
Suddenly, there was a loud bang.
It was like an explosion, and then all the lights in the room went out.
Crystal quickly squatted down.
The next second, the wall glass was blasted into pieces, with heat waves and glass debris spurting in, and thick smoke rolling in.
The sirens cut through the sky.
As night fell, a cordon was pulled up in the campus. Several fire trucks had rushed in.
In the middle of the laboratory building that the university had spent a lot of money to build, the thick smoke was almost melting with the darkness, and the fire kept spreading. From time to time, red fireballs fell down from the building and hit the flower beds on the roadside.
