As it was the peak hours, the white Porsche moved on and stopped intermittently along the way.
Dylan was driving the car and looking ahead. He seemed to have not rested well all night. In addition to the dark circles around his eyes, there were a lot of thin blood streaks on his eyes.
Tina clutched her seat belt with both hands.
At such a critical moment, it was inappropriate for her to draw a clear distinction between Dylan and her.
She frowned and asked, "Is the situation very bad?"
In fact, the answer was obvious.
Dylan had told her that his father was diagnosed with advanced liver cancer. It was a terminal disease, which virtually meant that Aspry had been sentenced to death.
Throughout every human being's life, the major events which couldn't be controlled were birth, aging, illness, and death. Illness was particularly difficult to predict. Took Isla as an example. Although she was still in the sterile room, she would probably be able to return to the normal track of life after she was discharged from the hospital. Tina had accompanied her daughter to go through this difficult phase of their lives. She had personally experienced the battle with the disease.
"Yes!" Dylan nodded.
Tina's heart sank.
About an hour later, the two of them finally arrived at a first-class hospital.
After parking the car, Tina and Dylan ran into the building.
Coming out of the elevator, Tina saw that the ICU center was ahead, while Lilith was sitting on a chair in the corridor. She propped up her forehead with her hands, and the messy hair was hanging down her shoulders. Her face, which looked mean and unfriendly in the past, had become dispirited and haggard now.
Hearing the footsteps, she looked up at Tina.
When As pry woke up in the ICU, he told his wife and son that he wanted to see Tina. For this reason, Tina's appearance didn't surprise Lilith. Although Lilith was obviously unhappy to see Tina here, she still didn't say anything. She simply looked away.
Dylan asked, "Mom, how is Dad?"
Lilith shook her head. "He is still in a coma. The doctor said that he hasn't passed the dangerous period yet!"
Although Lilith didn't like Tina, but it was her husband's wish to see his adopted daughter. Lilith stood up and went outside for a walk.
Tina didn't pay attention to Lilith. She went straight to the ICU center.
The ICU room was isolated with thick glass walls. Inside the room, there were medical apparatus everywhere. Aspry was lying on the bed in the middle of the room. He was wearing an oxygen mask, while there were a great number of tubes on his body. His face was pale, and he looked very weak, as if he had aged several years.
Tina looked at the old man who used to be her adoptive father, while tears welled up in her eyes.
She asked very sadly, "Did uncle pass out last night?"
"Uh-huh." Dylan nodded. His voice was feeble and husky, "Last night, I went back home after the concert was over. Then, I quarrelled with my Mom and mentioned what had happened to you five years ago. I hadn't expected that Dad would overhear what we said..."
After the concert ended last night, it was very late. Dylan went back home and saw that Lilith still hadn't gone to the bed.
Lilith had been trying to make things difficult for Dylan and Tina. At first, she exposed the secret of Isla's identity. After that, she tried her best to persuade Dylan to reunite with Selene. When she realized that what she had done didn't work, Lilith introduced a number of young ladies coming from rich and powerful families to Dylan.
After Dylan coming back home, Lilith began nagging him again.
Dylan was annoyed, and he made it very clear to Lilith.
He only wanted Tina.
Lilith was also very angry. She couldn't understand why her son had been so addicted to Tina all the time. "Dylan, how many times I have told you, Tina is a little vamp! Why don't you forget all about her? Her social status and background were very mediocre. You have so many young ladies to choose from. Why? Tina is no longer a virgin. She had slept with a great many men... What's worse, she had a daughter, a bastard!"
Dylan was annoyed even more by the last few words of his mother.
He didn't understand why. It was obviously his mother's fault, but she didn't feel ashamed of what she had done to Tina five years ago. She acted as if it was justified for her to do so.
Dylan roared, "Shut up! It's enough! You have ruined your image as my Mom. You did such a vicious thing to Tina. Aren't you ashamed of it? What's the difference between you and an evil witch? If you hadn't drugged Tina five years ago, how would she have ended up like that? Don't you know how to reflect upon the mistakes you made?"
Lilith thought that her image of a kind mother had already been ruined.
As she was very angry now, she didn't want to hide anything. She sneered and said, "Reflect upon the mistakes I made? If I hadn't drugged her and made her r*ped by another man, how could she give birth to that bastard? If I hadn't do that, this little vamp would seduce you, and you two would go to the Civil Affairs Bureau and become husband and wife!
