She was quite above telling a falsehood about that!
What made Emily even more stunned was that Simon walked the talk. After taking off her panties and seeing it himself, he relaxed his grip on her legs who had been pressing against the cabinet door in silent despondency.
Simon frowned and said bitterly. "Holy crap!"
"What should we do now?" Emily asked, biting her lip.
She didn't expect that she got her period a few days earlier. Maybe it was because she had taken an emergency contraceptive before, which caused the endocrine disturbance. But it indeed left her in a peculiar predicament and she hardly knew what to do because she had no sanitary napkin in the bag.
"Wait up!"
After saying that, Simon turned around and strode away.
Emily bit her lip as she gazed at his receding figure. He wore the doctor's coat in a hurry, which rucked up round his middle. He looked flustered, especially because of the bulge that lay beneath.
She lowered her gaze with a burning face and threw herself together.
About five or six minutes later, the door banged open. Simon came back with a glacial expression, but if she looked carefully, she could find that the left pocket of his coat bulged out.
After walking to her, he took out a small pink bag from it.
Emily reached out to take it and asked in surprise, "Where did you get it?"
A strained, unfamiliar look of embarrassment came over Simon's face. He said unnaturally, "Ahem, I asked a nurse to get it!"
"Ah?" Emily looked at him in disbelief.
She could picture the scene that he just strode to the nurse station and awkwardly asked nurses for sanitary napkins. Her mouth twitched and she nearly burst out laughing.
Seeing her mouth twitched, Simon shouted in exasperation, "Don't laugh. The bathroom is at the end of the corridor. Do you need my help?"
"No!" Emily quickly shook her head.
Holding the pink bag, she quickly ran out of the office.
Two minutes later, Emily came back and said in a low and low voice, "Thank you!"
Simon stood in front of the window, smoking. The window was open and in came a gentle breeze, which blew away the white smoke. Doctors were not allowed to smoke in the hospital during working hours, but at this time, he could not abide by it. Only the nicotine could help him resist the impulse.
He stubbed out his cigarette, turned his head back and said fiercely, "Emily, did you do it on purpose?"
"No!" Emily felt wronged.
She had never expected to be in such an embarrassing situation.
Seeing that his chest was still heaving, Emily picked up the bag from the sofa and zipped it up. "Go to work. I'll go back!"
"Come back!" Simon lengthened his stride to keep up with her. He grabbed her arm from behind and said unhappily, "Did I allow you to leave me? Who promised to stay here tonight?"
"But I'm having my period now. Why do I have to stay here?" Emily asked with a puzzled expression.
