Morning came like the cheerful jaunt of a little fawn, injecting life into a city still in slumber.
The black Cayenne drove out of the apartment district next to the river. Emily had her right hand behind her back, rubbing the soreness of her aching waist. She couldn't help but think of his words last night. She had only just opened her mouth last night and all that she received was the clatter of breaking items.
She gently nipped at the corner of her lip and couldn't help but looked at him.
The morning light outside permeating the tint of the car window, casting a silhouette of the outlines of his face that accentuated his handsome face.
Not the same...
Dazed by the view of him, Emily stared quietly as she muttered to herself quietly.
When did the Cayenne ease into a halt, she did not know. It wasn't until Simon's captivating eyes panned to eye at her did she finally woke up. Wryly, he said, "Am I so handsome that you have to stare at me all the way here?"
Embarrassed, Emily cleared her throat. "Ahem! Who's looking at you?"
"Mrs. Chin, should I turn around and drive home now?" Simon's slender fingers tapped deliberately on the steering wheel.
Emily could never miss the gist behind his words. Her face flushed red. "No, you dummy! I have to go to work!"
Simon giggled happily. It was just for fun. As much as he wanted to, he could not go home; not when mornings were usually the busiest hours at his clinic. His Adam's apple stirred as he suppressed the urge to really turn back home.
Emily was struggling to unbuckle her seat belt when his hand reached over. Mistaking him as taking his liberties with her, she instinctively winced to the passenger door away from him. But instead, his hand reached past her to point outside the window. "That's your colleague, Hao!"
"Where?" Emily quickly looked up, unbuckling her seat belt.
Languidly, Simon said, "She just got off my brother's car!"
Only then did Emily saw a familiar expensive-looking car just two hundred meters ahead of their Cayenne. Tina did not come out of the rear passenger door. She swung her legs out of the car and before she stood up still, an arm came out from inside.
The arm pulled Tina back into the car and she fell into whoever it was still inside the car.
By the time she got up again, the lipstick on her mouth was smeared and her lips slightly swollen from something which could only be a hard kiss. Tina covered her mouth with a hand, stomped her foot, and hurried inside.
The vehicle's rear door closed and the long black sedan drove away.
She could not see who it was inside the car. But judging from the sleeved arm and the strong manner in which he pulled Tina, Emily was certain that it must be Wilson Chin in his sleek suit and rimmed spectacles in the rear seat of the sedan just now.
Emily clicked her tongue and remarked, "So your brother's in a lonely mood lately, huh?"
"What about me?" Simon raised his brows playfully at her.
"You?" Emily grabbed the bag on her knee and said, "You're a pervert!"
After that, she practically jumped out of the car, afraid of being caught by him again, and ran into the office building.
