Purchased A Mr. Right novel Chapter 732

By the time they left the salon and finished walking around the mall, night had come outside.

Selena strode to the roadside to catch a cab. Selena went to stop a taxi on the side of the road. She had only just joined the working class and she did not have much money. The place she rented was hardly a lively one and she intentionally picked a cab route that was just on the way to her place and that could save her some fare.

A taxi stopped but Emily waved it off, saying, "I'm sorry. We're going the other way!"

"Huh, what's the opposite? Aren't you going home?" Selena looked confused before she clapped her hands with a cunning grin, "I know it! You're going to the hospital to find your hubby!"

"Well, you're right," Emily nodded, blushing that her thoughts were guessed rightly. She muttered uneasily, "I think the surgery's about to end by now."

She peered at her watch. He must be in his second surgery by now. If she could reach there in time, she might be able to catch him and they could go home together.

Selena immediately understood what Emily was going to do and she made a very Upon hearing this, Selena immediately understood, and made a very overblown gesture of encouragement, "Go for it, Sis!"

Emily could have not been any more embarrassed by her cousin's behavior. Even in the night of the evening, she could feel the blazes on both her cheeks. She hailed another cab and shoved Selena inside, and not without urging the driver to drive quickly before she slammed the door shut.

After sending off her cousin, she spun around and headed for the subway station at the back.

The hospital was relatively quiet in such hours. An inquiry at the information counter directed her to find Simon's name at the Cardiology notice board and she found the times of his surgeries tonight: 5 pm and 7.30 pm.

Emily went to the door of the operating theater and the "Surgery" light was still on.

She reckoned that she had estimated her time badly. The surgery had not yet ended and she decided to just sit down on the floor, clutching her handbag tightly to her chest. One look at her and anyone might think she's an anxious member of the patient's family.

The dim lights outside the operating theater and the silence of the hospital lulled Emily into sleep and she leaned the back of her head against the wall as her eyes drooped shut slowly.

How long did she sleep, she did not know. But even before her eyes opened, she caught the acrid smell of disinfectant when she woke up.

She looked up and found herself leaning on the strong and broad shoulder of Simon, the side profile of his handsome face looking so pleasing to her eyes. He was still wearing his surgical robes with his cap and face mask tossed aside and his legs stretched comfortably.

Held in his fingers was a cigarette, although it was not lighted; the smoking area was aways from here. The depression and squashed marks of his cigarette showed that he had been maintaining this posture for quite some time.

Emily eyed the marks on the cigarette, her gaze turning dazed for seconds that she lost focus.

She rubbed her eyes. The "Surgery" light overhead the door was off and the operating room was empty. The entire corridor was deserted except for them sitting quietly on the floor.

Emily hastily tidied her hair and gasped bashfully, "When did you come out?"

"An hour ago." Simon twirled the cigarette in his hand like he would with a pen.

"What?" Emily's eyes widened in surprise. "Then why didn't you wake me up?"

Simon's playful eyes slanted at her. The lights shining from above caused a slight diffusion of rays that looked like glittering shards pouring out of his eyes as he looked at her wryly.

They have shared something like this before, only the situations were reversed. She was waiting for him in the car then and even though she was hungry, she did not wake him up and there she waited until he woke up himself.

Simon remembered exactly that when he stepped out of the operating room. That was why he sat down beside her and waited for him even as the urge to smoke after a surgery to relieve his stress never stopped prodding him. He allowed her to lean on his shoulder like a pillow and allowed her to rest in her most comfortable posture.
