The smile on Emily's face faded little by little, and she struggled to shake off Simon's big hand on her shoulder. She gritted her teeth and said, "Well, since you are full of affection and loyalty, I have nothing to say to you!"
Holding the suitcase in her hand, she was about to squeeze out of the door.
"I don't allow you to go!" Simon, remaining unmoved like a statue, blocked the door.
"You..." Emily pointed at him in anger.
There was a trace of gloom in Simon's peach blossom eyes. He seemed to have become angry and shouted in a deep voice, "I won't let you go, so you can't get out of this door today!"
"Aha, Young Master Chin, I didn't expect you to be so awesome!" Emily laughed mockingly. She raised her voice and deliberately asked him, "Why don't I live in a hotel too? Or, do you want me to apply for a restraining order, too?"
In fact, Simon did not really get angry with her—he just wanted to stop her from leaving. With a helpless look, he said, "Anyway, I won't let you go!"
Emily gritted her teeth and glared at him.
One of them was in the bedroom, and the other was outside. They were locked in a stalemate.
Emily tried to push him away but failed. The suitcase in her hand swung to one side and knocked the cabinet aside.
She just closed her suitcase but did not lock it up. So, all the things in it were scattered about in a mess on the ground after the hit. Also, hit by the impact, the vase on the cabinet also fell to the ground and broke into pieces.
Seeing this, Simon quickly stepped forward and took her to the other side in time. He said in a soft voice, "You are very emotional now. I know it's my fault. But Mrs. Chin, think about the baby in your belly!"
As he spoke, his palm covered her belly.
Emily, feeling the warmth of his hand, was impressed.
She bit the corner of her lips. Though her face was a little dull, she loosened her tight grip, and the violent rise and fall of her chest became gentle.
Simon took the chance to hold her shoulders again and bent down to look at her with her charming eyes. In a low voice, he coaxed, "By the way, if you go back to the town so rashly, you'll make aunt and uncle worry about you, won't you?"
"..." Emily frowned.
Indeed, if she pulled the suitcase back so suddenly, they would worry about her. Even though she could try to hide the truth, they would make all sorts of guesses. Emily did not want them to worry about her...
Emily closed her eyes and helplessly pushed his big hand away. Instead of carrying her suitcase, she walked back to the big bed and sat down silently with her back to him.
Simon let out a sigh of relief when he saw her stop trying to go back to the town.
He picked up the suitcase on the ground and hung all her clothes back into the closet. Throughout the whole process, Emily did not stop him and did not even cast him a side glance.
After Simon cleaned up the mess, he took a cup of warm water from the dining room and put it on the bedside cupboard. However, Emily had no intention of paying any attention to him and even quickly avoided him when he approached her. Simon said, his Adam's apple moving slightly. "Emily, drink some water!"
"Get out..."
Emily lowered her eyes and uttered the two words in a low voice.
Simon remained silent for two seconds, then got up and walked out of the room.
When he closed the bedroom door, Emily shut her eyes, feeling weak. Her heart grew chill as if it had gradually sunk into the bottom of a lake.
