Simon put the phone near his ear, walked to the window, and picked it up. "Hello, Tina, what's the matter?"
"Are you in touch with Emily?" Tina asked him.
"Emily?" Simon frowned and asked nervously, "What's wrong with her?"
Tina kept silent for a while and then explained, "In fact, I'm not sure if anything has happened to her, but I can't get in touch with her now. She hasn't answered any of my calls. Is there anything that happened to her?"
Simon's throat tightened as he asked, "What did you say?!"
"We went out to interview in the morning and had been to two nursing homes. When we finished interviewing, it was about one o'clock in the afternoon. Then we had to go to the north of the river. I was afraid that she would be tired, so I let her go back to the TV station first!" Tina continued, but her tone was obviously a little flustered. "I just finished the work and came back, but I found that she was not here. I asked my colleagues and was told that she didn't come back at all..."
"It's been four hours since we separated. What's to be done? Is it possible that she felt uncomfortable and has gone home directly?" On the other end of the line, Tina kept talking in a panicky voice.
In a second, Simon's eyelids jumped violently three
times!
He said to Tina, "I'll drive back now!"
Four hours...
Simon looked out of the window and saw that it was dark already. This scene made his heart burn with anxiety.
After hanging up the phone, he briefly told the head nurse what they should do next and then strode away.
The black Cayenne skidded as Simon jammed on the brakes before the building. Then, he jumped off the car from the driver's seat and slammed the door shut. In big strides, he walked up the stairs, pushed open the gate, and went straight to the elevator.
He took out the key and turned it. Click-clack! Clickclack! Simon was suddenly flustered.
He could turn the key for two circles, which indicated that the security door was still doublelocked and had not been opened yet...
Simon opened the security door and saw their slippers on the floor, which were still at the same place as they left home in the morning.
If she did not come back...
Simon did not dare to imagine what would happen to her. Countless thoughts flashed through his mind, like flames darting around in all directions.
Was it that she was not feeling well, or anything even worse had happened to her...
Not long after Simon stepped into the house, Tina and Wilson also arrived in a hurry. Tina was worried about Emily's safety, so she asked Wilson to drive here when he came to take her home. When they saw that he was alone in the house, they suddenly had a bad feeling.
"Isn't Emily at home?"
Simon shook his head, and his eyes narrowed. "No, there's no one at home!"
"How could this be? Then where could she go?" After Tina heard this, she was very anxious. "Did you call her? Is there still no one to pick up the phone?"
"No!" Simon said with a gloomy face.
In the hospital, he hung up Tina's phone and hurried back. On his way home, he kept calling Emilly, but no one answered. When he just came back to the community, he also asked Mr. Weil if he had seen her. However, he shook his head blankly, saying that he had not seen her come back since they left in the morning...
Tina did not want to give up. She took out her cell phone and dialed again.
