Chapter 61
“I understand. Go on with your busy life, then. Don’t bother about me. That’s it!”
Snap!
Sasha hung up the phone and irritatedly tossed her mobile aside.
Olivia sat by the bedside, peeling an orange for her. Observing her demeanor, Olivia spoke, “Sasha, your mom is just worried about you.” She then handed her the peeled orange.
Sasha took it and began eating, saying, “Worried about me? If she were worried, she wouldn’t be engrossed in her work when her daughter is on the brink of death!”
Sasha was clearly resentful, evident with her sharp tone.
Olivia smiled and said, “There’s no way around it. Her job is demanding.”
Upon learning about Sasha’s situation, Leah rushed back immediately. However, just as the plane landed, she received a call from the other side. By then, Sasha was in the clear. After careful consideration, Leah decided to return.
There were many things that could not be simply labeled right or wrong, but Sasha was her child, so the situation was distressing. This went especially for someone with Sasha’s temperament.
“If her job is so demanding, then she shouldn’t get married or have children. What’s the point of having them if she doesn’t care?”
Sasha’s remark was not wrong. Leah was a geologist who frequently traveled around the world, leaving Sasha in the care of her grandparents. This contributed to her extremely rebellious nature.
Moreover, her parents divorced when she was in elementary school, naturally making her even more
wayward.
Olivia knew that if they continued on this topic, Sasha would become even more upset. She gently patted her. “Alright, let’s not talk about this. By the way, I don’t know if your uncle mentioned. something to you.”
“What is it?” Sasha asked, displeasure evident as she stuffed the orange into her mouth.
Olivia smiled slightly. “The person who saved you was Scott’s ex–wife.”
“What?” Sasha furrowed her brow for a moment, clearly finding it hard to believe.
Olivia chuckled slightly. “It seems your uncle really didn’t tell you.
“I wasn’t aware of it. Today, I went to express my gratitude to your savior, and it was only then I found out. Her hand was burned, but it wasn’t too severe.
“You’re in much better condition now. Your mom won’t be back for a while, so she asked me to take care of you in her absence. I think it’s only right for you to personally thank the person who saved

your life.”

Sasha fell silent. She looked at Olivia’s expression and scrutinized it carefully. Then, she revealed a knowing smile. “Olivia, that thorn in your heart is still there, isn’t it?”
Olivia looked at her. Though she was 18 and her face appeared youthful, her eyes were full of intelligence.
Olivia’s smile deepened. “She was by your uncle’s side for three years. Would you believe me if I said I’m not bothered at all?”
“I wouldn’t believe it!”
“Well, there you have it. Of course, she and your uncle are already divorced. I asked you to thank her out of the most basic courtesy. After all, one should have manners, right?”
Sasha raised an eyebrow, observing Olivia’s hypocritical demeanor. Her mind raced.
Crossing her arms and lifting her chin slightly, she said with a sly smile, “Alright.
